2023 está acabando e foi um ano bem legal, apesar de eu ter ficado um pouco afastado do meu skate.
Porém, sempre que possível, eu estava fotografando.

No mês de março, fui acionado pelo Luan de Oliveira para fazer uma foto dele para o anúncio na ThrasherMag para um novo patrocinador.
Infelizmente, no momento do contato, eu estava trabalhando presencialmente, no escritório da empresa. Sem nenhuma possibilidade de ir ao encontro dele para a sessão de fotos.
Ele me agradeceu e disse que tentaria em um outro momento. Após eu desligar a ligação, eu pensei que ali eu tinha perdido a chance de realizar um sonho de estampar uma foto na "bíblia do skate mundial", apesar de todas as polêmicas que envolvem a revista nos últimos tempos.

Passou o Carnaval, veio o Tampa e durante a competição o Luan foi anunciado como skatista do time da Cariuma.
Mandei uma mensagem para ele parabenizando pelo novo contrato. Ele me respondeu dizendo que ainda precisava da foto e que na semana seguinte estaria no Rio. Respondi que era só ele me falar o dia que faríamos a tal foto.

Agendamos o dia e ele me disse que queria fazer um Switch Frontside Flip no monumento com três grandes degraus que existe na Praça Mauá, que chamamos de "Bolo".

No dia marcado, o Luan fez um breve aquecimento e em três tentativas ele acertou a manobra e nós tínhamos a foto.

Agora era enviar o material para a Cariuma e aguardar a impressão na revista.

Na semana seguinte, o pessoal da Cariuma entrou em contato comigo via Instagram, dizendo que gostaram muito de uma das fotos que fiz durante o aquecimento do Luan e que queriam pagar pelo uso dessa foto no Instagram.

Fizemos a negociação e a foto foi postada no Instagram da Cariuma Skateboarding. Repostei a mesma e foi maior loucura. Todos me parabenizando pela foto e por ter sido para uma grande marca do skate.

Enfim, em junho, a revista foi publicada e eu pude ter o sonho concretizado. A foto estava estampada em página dupla!

Que felicidade! Desde o início da minha "carreira" na fotografia, sempre foi um sonho ter uma foto estampada na Thrasher Mag.

Sonho esse que um amigo teve anos atrás e me contou, dizendo que havia sonhado com uma foto minha na capa e que comemoramos muito em uma sessão de skate na Praça XV. Eu acho que o Yllan sempre acreditou mais no meu talento do que eu mesmo.

Além de outras coisas mais, esse foi um ato que marcou a minha trajetória em 2023.

Talvez a frase "Acredite nos seus sonhos", faça mais sentido, agora!

2023 is coming to an end and it was a pretty cool year, even though I got a little away from my skating.
However, I was always taking pictures whenever possible.
In March, I was contacted by Luan de Oliveira to take a picture of him for the ThrasherMag ad for a new sponsor.
Unfortunately, at the time of contact, I was working in person, at the company office. Without any possibility of meeting him for the photo shoot.
He thanked me and said he would try again at another time. After I hung up the call, I thought that there I had lost the chance to fulfill my dream of having a photo published in the "bible of world skateboarding", despite all the controversies surrounding the magazine in recent times.
Carnival came and went, and during the Tampa competition, Luan was announced as a skater on the Cariuma team.
I sent him a message congratulating him on his new contract. He responded saying that he still needed the photo and that he would be in Rio the following week. I replied that it was just for him to tell me the day we would take the photo.
We scheduled the day and he told me he wanted to do a Switch Frontside Flip on the monument with three large steps that exists in Praça Mauá, which we call "Cake".
On the scheduled day, Luan did a brief warm-up and on three tries he landed the trick and we had the photo.
Now it was time to send the material to Cariuma and wait for the magazine to be printed.
The following week, the Cariuma people contacted me via Instagram, saying that they really liked one of the photos I took during Luan's warm-up and that they wanted to pay for the use of that photo on Instagram.
We negotiated and the photo was posted on the Cariuma Skateboarding Instagram. I reposted the same and it was the biggest madness. Everyone congratulating me on the photo and for it being for a major skate brand.
Finally, in June, the magazine was published and I could make my dream come true. The photo was printed on a double page!
What happiness! Since the beginning of my "career" in photography, it has always been a dream to have a photo printed in Thrasher Mag.
This dream that a friend had years ago and told me, saying that he had dreamed of a photo of me on the cover and that we celebrated a lot in a skate session at Praça XV. I think Yllan always believed in my talent more than I did.
In addition to other things, this was an act that marked my trajectory in 2023.
Maybe the phrase "Believe in your dreams" makes more sense now!
