Snow, Sun, Cable Managment, Bread, Wrestling Practice - Thursday
Woke up to a dusting of snow yesterday morning. It was not much, only less than a half an inch. It was more than enough to turn everything to an ice rink with the fine snow on top of the slick ice. It's still getting cold at night but we are getting the sun in the day and it's warming up again.
It was a bit silly. I looked out the window and saw the sun shining and snow flakes falling. Not sure they are exactly visible in either of these shots but it made me laugh. Made for a seriously Spring feel.
The sun shone nice and bright and the snow was quickly melting off the roof and running little streams of water off the eaves.
We got our shelves that we ordered for under the tv. They came in boxes and luckily the things are not heavy as it would have been a bit fun trying to carry them up the icy driveway.
The cables needed to be managed, managed hard. I got the entertainment system setup but had neglected the cables which now had to be dealt with. It took about an hour but in the end I got them all coiled, folded, routed, and tucked away using the two sided velcro strips.
Once the cables were done the drawers slid in nicely and will be getting filled with a lot of the boys craft supplies.
After picking J up from school I got a loaf of bread going. I let the yeast rise for a while before adding the rest of the ingredients and it had filled half the pan.
The uber healthy yeast rose the bread super high and it was just about touching the lid by the time it started to bake.
Wrestling practice again after the break for the holiday. Two sets of brothers, J and his classmate and their little brothers were running around tackling each other all around the mats to start before practice began.
It is a bit chaotic before the practice begins with kids running and screaming and crashing around the room.
Made me laugh seeing the little dude on the mat right before the practice began. He was standing there watching all the kids go by and making moves slightly ;similar to what the bigger kids were doing. Maybe 3 years old.
Most of the night was spent working on working the half from the back and then working the defense of the half.
R is learning to find better partners for practice. There are a couple of kids that are super ADHD and have ZERO focus which then turns on everyone around them making them not focus. I think the two are brothers. R partnered with the older one this time but the kid was worse than his little brother.
J worked with one of his classmates and they ended up mostly getting the move.
Use the head as a post, stand on the toes, and push the chest down on theirs.
After getting scuffed knees and poked and frustrated by the first kid R found a different partner that was a bit bigger than him but was not a little psycho. He seemed a lot happier working with the new kid and I talked with him about how that is a much better decision and he has more fun with the right partners.
They ended with a round of sumo and J doesn't quite get it yet. He and I will have to work a bit on it. He doesn't get low enough and the other kids just shove him out of the ring. All good, it takes time and he is not a naturally aggressive kid.
While at practice the bread was done and @stryeyz got it out of the machine to cool. It turned out super nice and fluffy bread, a lot better than many of my other loaves that end up far denser. The yeast proof helps immensely I think.
Out soaking after the practice to chlorine the mat ick off the boys.
I have my consult for mando classes on Monday morning now and am looking forward to it. Today J has a half day at school then we are going to go to Sandpoint for the night.

Holy rise and a half! The loftiness and crumb on that loaf totally caught my eye, yum!
It looks like wrestling is progressing nicely, and I love it when the super small frys get in on the action😁 Those pics were great! Do your boys do spring sports too?
Track starts Monday, my son throws things, at least I get to be outside to watch that, although watching a meet from a hot tub might be the way to go, that soak footage, so nice….
That's one nice looking loaf of bread!
Excellent post I really enjoyed it and the bread looked delicious 😋👍🏾
