Hops Bines, Sun n Wind, Sportsing, Mason Jars, Fire, Grill Bison - Saturday
Yesterday morning I watched Man Utd play and barely win while the boys were still asleep. The weather was calling for a major wind event to some through with big chances of rain. Well, the winds came but not nearly as bad as they had called for and then we got only a small smattering of rain. Mid morning I went out to the hops and cut them down from the frame. I never pulled them down 2 years ago so it was a couple years of growth to remove. Nicely they came off pretty easily and I hauled the pile to the sheep pen.
It was cloudy earlier but the winds pushed the clouds out of the region for most of the day. So much for the rain they were calling for.
The PDC Grand Slam is going this weekend and so I had that on mid day. Fallon put up a bit of a fight against MVG but he took the match 5-2.
One of my goals was to get the table taken down in the kitchen since it was taking up a ton of space. That meant I had to find something to do with the boxes of mason jars. I ended up hauling them all down to the basement where I found a nice spot to stack them.
I managed to get the table down and a bunch of stuff moved and organized so we now have a lot more space to move around.
For dinner I thawed a package of bison riblets which I made a marinade for and let sit for a while.
They cooked pretty quick since they were not too thick.
I also cut up a bunch of potatoes in jo-joes and baked them while the meat grilled.
We ate and watched the UFC fights. Aspinall won quickly but the main bout was stopped way too early.
After the fights I went out to soak for a bit. I worked on my story a bit more afterwards.
Today the weather is calm again, sportsing is on all day, I have writing to get done, I have to work on my EAA scholarship application so I can submit it in hopes of being awarded for flight school, I'll wander the property to check on if there is any wind damage, and I am trying to keep cleaning and organizing around the house.
