Nice But Rainy Saturday - Alive And Thriving - Actifit: October 14, 2023

On my Saturday it was quite nice weather for most of the day, we did get two short but heavy rainfalls though, first in the early afternoon and then in the late afternoon, so it was nice that they did not last long.
I am still walking everywhere, and I got a few pictures from throughout the day, which I hope you will enjoy.
In the day I first rested up for quite a while as I needed it, and then I went on Hive in the late afternoon and evening, where I completed all daily tasks before going to bed, and it got a bit late but I could sleep on Sunday too.
This is my participation in the #POLIAC competition run by @poliac aka @browery, and my participation in #MAcFiT from @macfit aka @merthin.
Here are some pictures from my day.
It's fantastic to see the fall colors, and this was from the middle of the day.
Afternoon views from the park, and above you can see it's wet and some branches had fallen too, and below some water drops on a leaf and a bench.
Above you see some fallen maple leaves in fall colors from the park, and the picture below was taken a bit later and of the Kungsholmen Church and just before it started raining a second time.
And finally we have the canal over to the mainland and The City from Kungsholmen, and this was taken just after the rain had stopped, I had to take cover in the meantime, and I walked back quite some time later.

Thanks a lot, and yes fall is very beautiful indeed, and a car would be a handicap in a city like Stockholm or any other big European city too for that matter, I did use public transport before, but stopped during Covid, and found out it worked for the most part so I continued, if I did not walk everywhere then public transport would be what I would use instead.
By the way I have heard that the public transport system is very different here than in the US, we have subways going about every 3 minutes, buses all over the place that goes every 5 or 10 minutes, and regional commute trains that goes every 20 minutes, of course that is during the day while they go a bit less of them during the night, but the main point is that a car is not only not needed, the way our streets are laid out which priorotize pedestrians and bikes first and cars last, plus with limited and expensive parking, means a car is much more of a burden than an asset.

Wow, @flaxz if we had all of those transportation ways, I would not own a vehicle either. Around ten years ago my town got our first bus system and it holds maybe 20 people and runs once an hour, it is half the size of a school bus. We do not have a passenger train that stops in my area and there are not any subways in Florida that I know of, maybe because it is because if you dig down 3 or four feet you hit water.
I noticed your streets were different, they have wider areas for bicycles and people walking.
A few days ago was the first time my husband had been inside a big shopping store since covid and he did not like it, he always orders online and does the curbside pickup.
Thanks, and yeah this is how it is in most major cities here, if you live in the countryside you will most likely need a car though, I grew up on a farm, so I did have a car before.
