Buying a Cycling Helmet, a very important implement. [ENG-ESP]

In the world of cycling many things are important, whether professional or as a hobby, to practice this beautiful sport we must keep many things in mind, not only owning a bicycle and having it in perfect condition, we must also protect ourselves. In this aspect, I had been failing for a long time, but now that has changed, I have managed to get a helmet and here I tell you when I went to buy it.

En el mundo del ciclismo muchísimas cosas son importantes, ya sea profesional o por afición, para practicar este hermoso deporte hay que tener muchas cosas presentes, no solo poseer una bicicleta y tenerla en perfecto estado, también debemos protegernos. En este aspecto, yo tenía mucho tiempo fallando, pero ahora eso ha cambiado, he conseguido hacerme con un casco y aquí les comento cuando fui a comprarlo.

Fui a las primeras horas del día, en Venezuela esta una ola de calor terrible desde el mes de febrero, por lo que se debe salir temprano si no se quiere morir rostizado por los rayos del sol. Así que rodé por esas calles a toda velocidad, mi bicicleta esta con el mantenimiento al día, por lo que solo esta permitido ir a toda la velocidad.

I rode a few kilometers towards the city center until I reached the bike shop I always visit, where I am a regular customer. It takes a lot of time looking at new bikes, and asking prices, it is inevitable to do so. In addition, I also talked a lot with the technical service people, to learn new things and planning to soon buy an MTB, I think that in a way, going to bicycle stores is like going to toy stores when we were children.

Recorrí algunos kilómetros hacia el centro de la ciudad hasta que llegué a la tienda de bicicletas que siempre visito, donde soy cliente regular. Tarde mucho tiempo viendo las bicicletas nuevas, y preguntando precios, es inevitable hacerlo. Además también conversé mucho con los de servicio técnico, para aprender nuevas cosas y planeando pronto comprar una MTB, creo que en cierta forma, ira a las tiendas de bicicletas es como ir a las tiendas de juguetes cuando éramos niños.

After returning from my astral trip with space bikes, I remembered what I was going for so I started looking at all the helmet models. There were many colors and different quality, some different from others, so I went looking for something of quality, but comfortable and stylish. So I didn't like the first helmets I reviewed, they looked like toys, plus it was perceived that the decoration was not going to last long with use. I took a white helmet with red lines, but when I put it on, I felt like it was putting too much pressure on my head.

Después de regresar de mi viaje astral con bicicletas espaciales, recordé a lo que iba así que me puse a ver todos los modelos de cascos. Había de muchos colores y de calidad diferente, unos diferentes de otros, así que me fui buscando algo de calidad, pero cómodo y con estilo. Así que los primeros cascos que revisé no me gustaron, parecían de juguete, además de que se percibía que la decoración no iba a durar mucho con el uso. Tomé un casco blanco con líneas rojas, pero cuando me lo puse, sentí que oprimía demasiado mi cabeza.

Then I took a helmet that I liked, its more stylized design, with more holes and apparently resistant material, the weight was nothing, I think it weighed more than an air bag, I tried this one on and the safety strap has several centimeters to accommodate adjust, in addition to adapting very well to the shortness of the head, it is very well designed. Luego tomé un casco que me gustó, su diseño mas estilizado, con más agujeros y de material aparentemente resistente, el peso no era nada, creo que pesaba más una bolsa de aire, este me lo probé y la correa de seguridad tiene varios centímetros apara ajustar, además que se adapta muy bien al cortono de la cabeza, esta muy bien diseñado. Otro punto importante es que que había muchos colores disponibles.

In the end I chose a green one, I think that for safety it is better to wear bright colors so that cars can see better when you are in front. It has sponge patches inside that cushion very well, this last detail was what helped me decide. In total I paid $20, and I was very satisfied, the security is priceless.

Al final elegí uno de color verde, creo que para seguridad es mejor llevar colores bien brillantes para que los automóviles puedan ver mejor cuando uno va delante. Tiene en su interior parches de esponja que amortiguan muy bien, este último detalle fue quien me ayudo a decidír. En total pagué 20$, y quedé muy conforme, la seguridad no tiene precio.

Today in the afternoon I went for a small routine ride, and I took my helmet, a real delight on the road, it is not bothersome at all, and its weight is great, I was very pleased with this purchase and while I was driving I thought about Other things to buy, like lights, which are also very important when we go out riding at night, I also thought about buying a cycling uniform. If I manage to buy it, I hope to find a way to personalize it to my liking.

Hoy en horas de la tarde fui a un pequeño paseo de rutina, y me llevé mi casco, toda una delicia en la carretera, para nada es molesto, y su peso es genial, quedé muy a gusto con esta compra y mientras manejaba pensaba en otras cosas para adquirir, como unas luces, las cuales también son muy importantes cuando salimos a rodar en horas de la noche, pensé tambien en comprar un uniforme de ciclismo, si logro comprarlo, espero conseguir la forma de personalizarlo a mi gusto.
