Hello cyclist friends, I hope you all had a good weekend, I was working on my projects so I left my usual ride to do it on Sunday, that is, yesterday, morning hours. My goal was to visit the sanctuary of the Virgin in my city. I clarify that I am not Catholic, much less Christian, however I feel a deep appreciation and respect for traditions, and from a cultural point of view, because I really like the manifestations. religious. My city Barquisimeto is known in the Christian world for housing the Virgin Mary, known as Divina Pastora, every year a procession is celebrated that is classified as one of the largest in the world, thousands of people from all over the country visit my city to go see the virgin. On this Sunday, I decided to take a route there, to the town of Santa Rosa, but not before going to other places along the way.

Hola amigos ciclistas, espero que todos hayan tenido un buen fin de semana, yo estuve trabajando en mis proyectos así que mi paseo acostumbrado dejé para hacerlo el día domingo, ese decir, ayer, horas de la mañana. Mi objetivo era visitar el santuario de la Virgen de mi ciudad, aclaro que no soy católico, ni mucho menos cristiano, sin embargo siento un profundo aprecio y respeto por las tradiciones, y desde un punto de vista cultural, pues me gusta mucho las manifestaciones religiosas. Mi ciudad Barquisimeto es conocida en el mundo cristiano por albergar a la virgen de María, conocida como Divina Pastora, cada año se celebra una procesión que esta catalogada como una de las más grandes del mundo, miles de personas de todo el país visitan mi ciudad para ir a ver a la virgen. En este día domingo decidí hacer una ruta hasta allá, al pueblo de Santa Rosa, no sin antes ir a otros lugares durante el recorrido.

I left yesterday very early, around 7 am, I took advantage of the fact that the morning was very refreshing, apparently the high temperatures have begun to decrease, my first trip was to Plaza Ayacucho, this plaza was built in honor of the Battle of Ayacucho, one of the crucial battles that helped seal the independence of America from the Spanish Empire, the great heroes of that time gathered to fight against the Spanish army, the best known being General Antonio José de Sucre. This statue commemorates that great battle and is one of the central points of my city. First thing in the morning I was very lonely, up to this point I only covered 5 km of the 13 km I did in total.

Salí el día de ayer muy temprano, a eso de las 7 am, aproveché que la mañana estaba muy refrescante, al parecer las altas temperaturas han comenzado a disminuir, mi primer recorrido fue hacia la plaza Ayacucho, esta plaza fue construida en honor a la Batalla de Ayacucho, una de las batallas cruciales que ayudó a sellar la independencia de América del Imperio Español, los grandes héroes de aquella época se dieron cita para luchar contra el ejército español, el más conocido fue el General Antonio José de Sucre. Esta estatua conmemora aquella gran batalla y es de los puntos centrales de mi ciudad. A primera hora de la mañana estaba muy solitaria, hasta este punto recorrí solo 5 km de los 13 km que hice en total.

Along these streets there are many houses of colonial architecture, some preserved in perfect condition, while others are already beginning to collapse and many others are in ruins. Some of the most famous buildings are the old General Military Headquarters, and the Barquisimeto Museum, other buildings belong to the Catholic church, such as Gothic-style churches, and also some schools and seminaries.

Entré al pueblo, quien te recibe con un hermoso arco donde esta la figura de la virgen María con el niño Jesús, las casas muy hermosas y coloridas, símbolo del caracter de sus habitantes, que te reciben con mucha educación y cariño, la plaza central del pequeño pueblo esta coronada por la gran iglesia, que es el santuario de la virgen, su imagen reposa aquí durante todo el año, hasta el día 14 de enero, ese día su imagen es sacada en procesión para visitar la mayoría de todas las iglesias, ese recorrido dura aproximadamente 2 meses.

I returned to my house following the same route, so in total I traveled 26 km round trip, but not before visiting a street that I had wanted to visit for a long time, and the reason is that a walk was inaugurated on that street artistic in honor of one of the most recognized artists in my city and worldwide, maestro Armando Villalon. A series of metal panels were placed along the entire avenue with many of his paintings. It is worth mentioning that this painter is very devoted to the virgin María Divina Pastora, so the first painting that can be seen is an image of the Virgin leaving her sanctuary to tour the city.

Regresé a mi casa siguiendo la misma ruta, así que en total hice 26 km de recorrido de ida y vuelta, no sin antes visitar una calle que tenía mucho tiempo con deseos de visitar, y la razón es que en esa calle se inauguró un paseo artísitico en honor a uno de los artistas mas reconocidos de mi ciudad y a nivel mundial, el maestro Armando Villalon. Fueron colocados una series de páneles de metal a lo largo de toda la avenidad con muchas de sus pinturas, cabe mencionar que este pintor es muy devoto de la virgen María Divina Pastora, por lo que el primer cuadro que se logra apreciar es una imagen de la Virgen saliendo de su santuario para recorrer la ciudad.

I really liked the artistic tour, however there was only one thing I didn't like, and that was the shape of the panels. I feel that having put them in the form of a book, the painting is deformed, losing a lot of its essence, so I think that you just have to concentrate on both sides separately to be able to enjoy it. Me gustó mucho el paseo artístico, sin embargo solo hubo algo que no me gustó, y es la forma de los páneles, siento que al haberlos puesto en forma de libro, la pintura se deforma, perdiendo mucho de su esencia, por lo que creo que solo hay concentrarse en ambos lados por separado para poder disfrutarla.
