Los Piratas barrieron su primera serie de cuatro juegos ante los Marlins de Florida, los cuales están pagando el haber negociado a Pablo López a los Twins, porque se han quedado sin buen pitcheo abridor (dos de sus lanzadores estrellas están lesionados). Luego, otro equipo débil: los Nacionales de Washington ha sido su víctima en la segunda serie y el récord global es de 6 ganados y uno perdido.
