Today was the last day of the wool festival. Before then I walked the dogs and served the b&b guests breakfast, and did my 5 minutes writing exercise.

I worked all day at the festival, making stuff (including stuff in picture above)

A bit of walking back and to the car backing up my stall.

Just walked the dogs.

Today, I wrote for 5 mins using a generated prompt from The Most Dangerous Writing App

prompt: *“She'd only given in because she was lonely.”

The girl had been persistent and for a moment Glenda had thought it would be a good idea.

Meet new people. Have a conversation.

But now, as she stood at the door to the flat across the hall from hers, a bottle of wine in one hand and a box of cheap chocolates in the other she was having second thoughts.

Glenda liked her own company. She liked being alone.

Mixing with other people always ended badly.

She would feel used, and put upon. Or worse, she would feel that she was unwelcome and that people were seeing her just because they felt sorry for her.

The girl - Jen - said her mother was lonely and she needed someone to talk to.

Come and have a meal, she said. Glenda had said no.

Of course, she had.

But the girl kept on at her.

And then, Glenda was curious.

She had never even seen the girl's mother. For a while, Glenda imagined that perhaps Jen lived alone.

But a girl of barely ten years old couldn't live on their own, so that was just stupid.

Still, Glenda couldn't help but wonder what Jen's mother was like.
