After serving breakfast I walked the dogs then after my writing exercise I went down to the wool festival

It was OK, made some stuff, sold some stuff, bought some stuff.

Walked dogs at lunchtime and again in evening.

Today, I wrote for 5 mins using a generated prompt from The Most Dangerous Writing App

prompt: *“There was a strange wailing sound coming from the next room.”

Jeff sat up in bed.

At first he thought he was dreaming: the sound had infiltrated his sleep and had become a strange dog-baby that was trying to tell him something.

But the wailing came again.

It sounded like some kind of creature was in pain. It didn't sound like anything he could identify.

He listened again, wondering if he should investigate. It was the right thing to do. But Jeff had survived this long in this strange world by keeping his nose out of other people's business.

Then a word came through the walls: "Help!"

Jeff swallowed, swung his legs out of bed and pulled on a pair of trousers and dragged a t-shirt over his head. He looked around for a weapon, but the only thing in the room that looked vaguely threatening was a small iron. He picked it up and went to the door.

The corridor was empty. If the noise was disturbing other guests in the grubby motel they were staying behind closed doors. Jeff went to the door next to his and taking a deep breath he rapped on it.
