Road trip: August 24 2023
Work was crazy yesterday again. Just how I like it 😉
I was planning to leave work at 3:15, exactly 1 hour earlier than my contracted end time, so I can pack and shower before our trip up North.
I send last email around 3pm and just as I was ready to leave I received an email back from the customer to give them a ring to clarify something. Usually that would stress me out, as I don’t like phone calls, but I had no time to get stressed. I wanted to leave asap and I knew that sorting whatever it is now will make me feel better than leaving it until I’m back to work on Tuesday.
So I picked up the phone, talked to a nice gentleman about his issue, sorted it out there and then and I could leave work satisfied that I did my best and there won’t be an angry customer waiting for me when I get back to work after a long weekend away.
Dealing with people outside my company is not usually my thing, but since I become more involved with creating certificates, I now need to occasionally email a customer or two to sort out whatever issues with those they may have. Truth be told, I quite enjoy it.
My writing skills are quite good and I know how to word my emails in a professional, yet kind way to make sure the customers feel that my intention is to help them the best way I can. As a result I get more and more involved with that side of our business and I like it.
Once I dealt with it, I got home still in good time to
shower and pack and soon enough Tina, I and her 3 dogs were on the road up North to visit Crystal.
We got stuck in a bit of traffic on M3 and M25, but not bad enough to lower our spirit of adventure. Tina put on the smooth radio and we were singing at the top of our voices to some good, old songs.
Once the sun started setting, it coloured the clouds in a beautiful way and I found myself actually appreciating it. I felt peaceful and content in a way I haven’t felt for a long time.
I guess my new supplements was just what I needed to reached some kind of peace and relaxation.
We arrived at Crystal’s just before 10pm at night and both of her dogs went crazy to see me and also a bit jealous of the other 3 dogs that we brought with us. Some interesting days are ahead of us seeing how all 5 dogs will get along 😂
Until next walk 💙
