Boom Town day 2: August 10 2023
Day 2 at Boom Town felt like the whole weekend. We packed so much in this one day that my only wish is that I was able to upload some pictures to share them in my report, but the signal is so weak it took me like 20 attempts to even power up 1 hive so I can stay on track with my PUM.
It’s so weird though, cause my signal bar is full 4G and it looks like it should be perfect, but there are literally no notifications and even texts don’t seem to be sending. So I walk around with my phone in my hand, waiting for a notification from anything and if I get any, I then stop and try to send whatever I need which still takes forever!
Oh well, that’s one downside of camping together with 60k other people and trying to still post regularly 😉 It would be a shame not to, when my steps count is really high. Weirdly enough Karen’s phone on different network works well enough to chat with her bf and manage her camp site reservations!
Camping in a campervan with a shower, toilet and cooking facilities is a game changer though. The weather has been sunny so far and only now, as I write this in early afternoon the clouds covered the sky and it become a bit windy. Fingers crossed it’s not going to rain or if it is, hopefully not for long.
Then again, having a solid roof over your head if it does is quite a luxury, so I feel very blessed that my friend extended an invitation to join her on this glamping trip ☺️
Anyway, time to get back to my friends and enjoy this to the max while I’m here.

! help(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoSo weird, right? My friends were saying that’s due to so many people (around 60k) trying to use their phones at the same time, which I get, but one of us on a different network had no issue at all, keep chatting on whatsapp with her bf while I couldn’t even send a single message, except for some odd points during our walks.
Still I think I managed to power up every day. Some days twice as I kept trying again and again and sometimes it would go through with a delay 😂
