The final stage of the IPL is underway. Gujarat Titans became the first team to make it to the playoffs. In the remaining three positions, no team has been able to secure their place yet. Royal Challengers Byagaluru's win last night made the playoff battle even more intense. Virat Kohli's great century led RCB to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets!

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore faced each other at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bowl. They invited Sunrisers Hyderabad to bat first.

Hyderabad wasn't able to bat well at the beginning. With Abishek Sharma and Rahul Tripadi both getting out for short runs, Hyderabad was under pressure. At that time two African stars Markaram and Henry Callasen took the lead of the team. Both of them led their team toward a century. However, shortly after the completion of the team's century, Captain Markaram was out by the ball of Sahbaz Ahmed and started to walk to the pavilion!

After the departure of captain Markaram, Kalasen led the team with Harry Book with his great batting. The all-rounder completed his century before he was out at the stage of 178 runs. Klassen played brilliant innings of 104 runs from just 51 balls. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 186 runs for the loss of five wickets in their scheduled 20 over. As a result, the target for Virat Kohli's team is 187!

In reply, Royal Challengers Bangalore got off to a great start to the innings. Captain Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli together brought the team to the brink of victory. The two averaged a match-winning partnership of 172 runs. Virat Kohli returned to the dressing room after completing a century in 63 balls. This is his sixth century in IPL which is jointly the highest in IPL history. Earlier, Chris Gayle completed six hundred in IPL.

Captain Faf du Plessis also played a brilliant innings of 71 off 47 balls before being dismissed. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match easily with Maxwell's finish at the end. As a result of this win, they are fourth in the points table with 14 points. Mumbai Indians are placed fifth in the points table with an equal number of points. So the playoff fate of Royal Challengers Bangalore is not yet confirmed. The result of the last match will determine which three teams will play in the playoffs after Gujarat. Fans will have to wait until then!
