Kolkata Knight Riders is out of the IPL race !!
The final battle of IPL is going on. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals faced off last night at one of the most important matches. Rajasthan Royals got a great win in this match. Kolkata Knight Riders chased down the target of 150 runs in just 13 overs with the excellent performance of Rajasthan batters! Rajasthan Royals won by nine wickets after losing just one wicket!
With this win, Rajasthan has moved up to the third position in the points table. They have 12 points with six wins in 12 matches. So the team has a good chance to qualify for the second round. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders lost the chance to qualify for the next round of this year's IPL as a result of this loss. The team was officially eliminated from the title fight as the 2nd team after Delhi Capitals!
Yesterday, the Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals match was held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bowl. Kolkata couldn't start the batting well. Jason Roy and Gurbaz returned to the dressing room in a short run. Apart from Iyer, no other player has been able to do well with the bat. This batsman scored a maximum of 57 runs for the team. At the end of the scheduled 20 overs, Kolkata's collection stood at 149 runs.
Rajasthan got off to a great start when they came down to bat with a target of 150 runs. Young opener Jaiswal scored 26 runs in the first over. In the next over, Buttler was run out and returned to the dressing room, but Jaiswal took the team forward with captain Sanju Samson. This young player made a record by completing 50 runs in just 13 balls. This is the fastest half-century record in IPL history!
Jaiswal didn't stop at half-century only. He left the field with the victory of the team from 98 runs off 47 balls. The young player missed out on a personal century by just two runs. However, his team Rajasthan won by just 13 overs.
Despite a great win, Rajasthan Royals are yet to finalize their place in the second phase. They have to depend on the results of other teams along with the rest of the matches.
