The Indian Premier League, the world's most popular franchise-based cricket tournament, started with a highly contested match. Chennai Super Kings against Gujarat Titans faced each other in the opening match. While Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans beat Chennai Super Kings by five wickets. Shakib Al Hasan is seen playing in the IPL every year as a representative of Bangladesh. This Bangladeshi legend started his journey in Indian Premier League with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011. The team won the championship the year after Shakib joined Kolkata. Shakib's contribution to becoming the Kolkata champion of the service was no less!
After Shakib, Mustafizur Rahman was called to IPL in 2016 as a Bangladeshi player. He showed his talent through a great performance against India on the country's soil. On that occasion, IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad signed him for one crore rupees.
In that season the fans got to see Mustafiz, an incomparable performance. Sunrisers Hyderabad also won the title for the first time through the extraordinary performance of David Warner and Mostafizur Rahman. Mostafizur Rahman, the pride of Bangladesh won the IPL's best-emerging player award as the first foreign player in the service.
Many more years have passed since then. Shakib Mostafiz has also gained experience playing for different teams. However, Shakib Al Hasan joined the old team Kolkata Knight Riders again in the 2023 IPL. Along with Shakib, Mustafiz will also play for his former team Delhi Capitals.
Classy wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das, who is in great form, got a chance from Bangladesh in this year's IPL.Kolkata singed him for 50 lakh rupees. However, even though the IPL has started, Shakib Liton hasn't yet joined the team. They will join the team after completing the Ireland series for the country.
