Bangladesh team can't manage to win the Test series against New Zealand despite creating great opportunities. Victory in the first Test at Sylhet opened the door to a first-ever Test series win against New Zealand. Bangladesh team performed well in the first innings in the second Test in Dhaka as well. But finally, Bangladesh couldn't manage to win the match when the New Zealand team made a great comeback in the second innings. Phillips and Azaz Patel's amazing performance gave the New Zealand team a win of four wickets!

The second Test match between Bangladesh and New Zealand was held at Sher Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat at the beginning of this match. In this match, Bangladesh entered the field with the unchanged XI from the first match. The captaincy of the team rests on the shoulders of Nazmul Hasan Shanto, who set a record in the first match. On the other hand, bowling all-rounder Mitchell Suttner took place in New Zealand's XI instead of spinner Ish Sodi. New Zealand added an all-rounder to the team after the batting failure in the first test.

Bangladesh lost two wickets for just 29 runs at the start of batting. Captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto and Muminul Haque failed to perform with the bat after the two openers Zakir Hasan and Mahmudul Hasan were dismissed. Bangladesh team lost four valuable wickets before completing 50 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim and Shahadat Hossain Dipu took the team forward by handling that pressure. However, when Mushfiq returned to the pavilion after getting out anomalously after crossing the team's hundred, Bangladesh was under huge pressure again. In the end, Shahadat Hossain Dipu's 31, and Mehedi Hasan Miraz contributed 20 runs for Bangladesh to score a fighting 170 runs on the hard pitch.

In response to Bangladesh's first innings of 172 runs, New Zealand didn't get off to a good start. The team lost seven wickets before scoring 100 runs. However, due to the ODI-style performance of Jann Phillips and Jamison, New Zealand was able to cross 170 runs set by Bangladesh. Phillips played an extraordinary innings of 87 runs from 72 balls for New Zealand. So the Black Caps started dreaming of winning the match based on this innings.

Bangladesh team entered the field in the 2nd innings after trailing by 10 runs. In the first over of the innings, Mahmudul Hasan Joy got out by handing a catch to Mitchell by spinner Azaz Patel. As a result, the Bangladesh team was under pressure at the beginning again. Zakir Hasan tried to handle the pressure by keeping one end, but Bangladesh kept losing one wicket after another at the other end. The hosts lost seven wickets before crossing the team's hundred. In the end, Bangladesh's 2nd innings ended at just 144 runs. A target of 134 runs was set in front of New Zealand.

It isn't an easy task to score 134 runs on a spin pitch like Dhaka. So it was very challenging for the Black Caps to win this match. Bangladeshi spinners kept New Zealand under pressure from the start. But in the end, New Zealand got the victory thanks to the impeccable batting performance of Jann Phillips and Mitchell Satner. New Zealand won the second match by four wickets to end the two-match Test series at 1-1. In the end, the Bangladesh team didn't win the test series against New Zealand!
