Bangladesh Cricket : The Tigers

The Afghanistan national cricket team is currently in Bangladesh to play a three-match ODI and two T20I series. The team has come to Bangladesh with their maximum strength to win the series. The three-match ODI series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan has already started. Where the Afghans got a great victory in the first match. The two teams face each other in this series to prepare for the ODI World Cup in India.

At the beginning of the series, Bangladesh played a very poor game. The team lost against Afghanistan by 17 runs in the DLS method. Bangladesh's performance was disappointing in both batting and bowling. After poor batting at the beginning of the match, they also failed in bowling. On the other hand, the players of Afghanistan have performed well in all categories of batting, bowling, and fielding. As a result, the victory came in favor of the Afghans!

The first ODI match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan was held at the Zahoor Ahmed Cricket Stadium in Chittagong. Afghanistan captain Hasmatullah Shahidi won the toss and decided to bowl at the beginning of the match. They planned to take the wicket of Bangladesh and pressurize them. However, if they failed to pick up wickets at the beginning, the good performance from the spinners stopped Bangladesh below 170!

Two openers Liton Das and captain Tamim Iqbal started batting for Bangladesh against Afghanistan. Although they batted well in the first six overs for the team, Tamim was on his way to the pavilion by scoring only 13 runs. The Bangladesh captain got out after giving a catch in the hands of wicketkeeper Gurbaz from Farooqi's ball. Later Liton Das and Nazmul Hasan tried to form a peaceful partnership but they failed. Bangladesh was under pressure after Liton Kumar Das and Nazmul Hasan Shanto departed with 65 runs and 72 runs respectively.

Shakib and Tawhid tried their best to handle that pressure, but Nabi's brilliant catch got out and Shakib Al Hasan made his way to the pavilion. Except for one Tawhid Ridoy, no one could stand with the bat in front of the Afghanistan bowlers. Towhid Riday scored a half-century in the rain-hit match but it wasn't enough for the team to win. In the end, the Bangladesh team collected 169 runs after losing nine wickets in the scheduled 43 overs.

Bangladesh collected 169 runs, but the Afghans' target was 164 runs in the DLS Method. The team got off to a great start after achieving their goal. The two openers combined for a partnership of 50+ runs. Gurbaz was dismissed for 54 runs, but the other two batsmen kept the run cycle going. After some time the game was stopped again due to rain. In the end that match never started. If Afghanistan leads by 17 runs under the DLS law, the match result goes in their favor. With this win, they took a 1-0 lead in the series.

Can Bangladesh make a comeback in the 2nd match? Or will the Afghans confirm the series? Captain Tamim's retirement announcement is bad news for Bangladesh before the 2nd match. Maybe the next match is the last match of his career!
