A broken cable is of no use to anyone until it is fixed, it just would not work as it is supposed to. A lot of folks try to package a broken cable, but it should be a convenient way if you want to use a gadget like a cable.

Basically, a cable is used to pass information or maybe current from one place to another. So, imagine the cable is broken at one place, which indicates a break in transmission. Whatsoever the cable is transmitting would definitely be disrupted when the cable breaks. So, fixing the break is the solution to the problem.
