Isaac Promise's interment & the shame of a nation

I have observed most developed countries of the world, and there is this one thing I noticed to be common among most of them that I observed.

What's that?

Patriotism!

Yes, patriotism is what I noticed in them all. Average citizen of a developed country is patriotic. They would do anything for their country even at the cost of their own life! From USA, UK, Israel to Belgium and Australia, the findings are the same.

That's opposite of what's obtainable in most developing countries like Nigeria. And you begin to wonder why it's so.

Well, an example of why this is so is the case of the funeral of late Isaac Promise. News heard it that the former Nigeria youth captain, Isaac Promise, was buried in his hometown, Umudim-Ohakelem, with no representative of NFF.

Recall that Mr Promise died of what's said to be related to heart attack in the USA. That's, I think, around early October. And the news of his death was everywhere.

Promise was once a great ambassador of this country. He represented Nigeria and made us proud while he was still alive. It's very unfortunate that NFF didn't see reasons to support the bereaved family in this critical time nor send a rep in their stead.

Assuming Isaac Promise could come back to life again, and is presented with an offer to represent Nigeria again, will he accept it?

I highly doubt!

Okay. Can something like this happen between a citizen of a developed country and the country itself? It's very most unlikely that such would happen.

Nigeria... Shame of a nation! Damn! 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️
