80/50 Score: Local Basketball League 2022 (August 4, 2022)

Our local governments had issued a sports activity to celebrate Town fiesta and the void of covid restrictions for two years. They decided to have a "do or die" basketball match from June 1 until November 1, 2022. The game follows a 'back to zero' pointing system after the elimination rounds until they meet the championship match.

We went to the local sports podium at 5:40 PM for the first game was scheduled for 6:00 PM. A safe place if ever heavy rains drop. I sit in the middle corner, seeing the court and the people who cheer with their local players.

The game was design for “Sanguninag Kabataan” or youth groups per barangay. At the age of 15-30, they qualified as not yet married and had no history of violent actions.

Both white and yellow teams have warm-ups as they are given 5 minutes to prepare their body heat for future actions.

It shows the white team praying for unity as they step into a match again.

The friendly shakes of hands show the sportsmanship of both players on the opposite side. This is where good sports starts, where friendship is built after the match. No hard feelings if both or one of their losses the game match.

The toast ball, the yellow team, got the first ball under their courts; this is the start of people cheering for the group of their choices.

The game match starts. And the intense people under the podium also started to get wild as the delegates shot the ball and wrote and got the first score of the game, 2/0 for the first 3 minutes of quarter 1.

Yellow also never gets demotivated. They scored 2 points that made the score of 2/2 in five minutes of the game under the first quarter. Also, violation points were given to white for the record of traveling.

Showing the referee of the game, three people are assigned to refer under the succession period. They were divided for showing looking at the team Yellow, the other for white and the rest referee that reading himself in if one of his mates gets tired or injured in the match.

The first quarter finished and broke at a score of 16/4 in favor of the white team.

The man with number 02 of the white team graduated for referee foul, and the guy the shirt 10 replaced him in the match.

The free throw was given to the white team favors, and they got a score of 2 points that still leads them on the scoreboard. It also shows the audience chooses to sit near the court. I don't know why they decided on that space; it is unsafe, especially when balls run to their faces

Showing the left and right podium cheering on their other side, it was hard to distinguish where is yellow and the white supports, a loud and cheering voice was the sign of heat under the cheering squad.

And this is what I'm not too fond of it, 7 PM, the rain drops heavily. It retook us 3o minutes as stranded on the podium, waiting for the result of the game.

The game ended with a score of 80/50 that favored the white team; the history of the game as they had been in a match in the elimination round, and the white team won, yet the yellow team regained after they lost vs. lose round. Still, the yellow team again had to face the lose vs. lose to get into the semi-finals game.

It's a long sports journey, yet seen that people are enjoying every T-Th-Saturday game night.
