Usually with street photography there's always a certain element of tension and uncertainty, but that was absent this morning.
It's different when it comes to sports events. You're capturing a piece of history, a historical moment in their lives and everyone is happy. You won't meet any resistance at these events, at least the chances are sling to none.

Ahh, that would explain it. I'm mostly around for the historical moments that are of the unhappy variety, tend to be heavier on the guns and glares. Was a quite pleasant change of pace, may have to go to more sporting events.
