The Calgary Flames filed for salary arbitration with Matthew Tkachuk.

So is going to work in the long run to get Tkachuk a long term deal or is this a way for the Flames

to have time during the year to trade and get something for him. The team cannot afford to have another

player get away for nothing in return. Arbitration period starts on July 27 and go till AUG. 11.

Only time will tel how long he will be a Calgary Flame.

Oliver Kylington, Matthew Phillips and Andrew Mangiapane
