Barrida espacial, análisis-opinión, space sweep, analysis-opinion | ESP-ENG
After watching the first two games in the city of Houston and the two that took place in New York City between Saturday and Sunday, we have been able to realize the level of the team managed by Dusty Baker, that beyond the very obvious problems of the Yankees team, it must be said, they are a step above the rest, thanks to a perfect combination of youth and experience, The latter will play a very important factor in the World Series against the Phillies of Philadelphia, representative of the National League, which begins next Friday at Minute Maid Park, home of the Astros, which is already used to host games of this magnitude at this time of the year, adding that it will be a totally unprecedented series, to the delight of all lovers of this sport.
BARRIDA ESPACIAL / SPACE SWEEP

Perhaps this was not the expected ending, maybe if many gave that the Astros would pass once again to the fall classic, I in particular gave the Houston team as the winner in 6 games, but not that the Mules would succumb in this way, with a sweep (0-4) categorically, placing in evidence the real problems of the New York team, For many of their fans they could not, or did not want to see, but for those of us who have been following what happened in the American League and since the division series against the Cleveland Rangers, this was already very evident and was becoming more and more evident every day; impatience at home plate on the part of their main hitters, which made them totally dependent on a home run, feeding the anxieties in them and in manager Aaron Boone, after the opponents managed to make the respective adjustments.
After such a great performance by Justin Verlander in the first game, the Astros, as if they would set the tone of this contest and would lean on pitching, without taking away merits to their pitchers and taking advantage of the bad moment with the bats of Aaron Boone's boys, the second game was exactly the same as the first, literally speaking, the home side, relied again on a great pitching job, this time by the Dominican left-handed pitcher Framber Valdez, who did practically what in all of 2022 he executed to perfection, always going beyond the 5th inning, always putting the ball on strike and in play, to fan 9 opponents, once again showing another quality outing.

Valdez's specialty, a new outing in which he kept his team in the fight to reach the victory, added to the 25 already achieved during the regular season, led Texas to go to the Bronx with an advantage, which for sure was fundamental to continue in this fight and somehow finish this series earlier than expected, Already in New York and on a cloudy and cold evening, the bats of the now at home team would remain totally frozen, and from Houston, Cristian Javier and his 5 innings pitched would sink the Yankees, putting them at bay and without any kind of answers, despite having their best man on the mound as Gerrit Cole, this not being enough to stay in the fight to get the victory that day..
The Houston bats would not let up on that day, and after a play between right center field, invidious of a miscommunication between the rangers Harrison Bader and Aaron Judge, they would drop a ball connected by the Boricua Christian Vazquez; and as after the error comes the home run, Chas McCormick would not miss that opportunity and would connect a line through the right field, which in the end would become a home run for the 2-0 on the scoreboard at that time, starting another turning point for the big apple without any answers, which would cost them finally a new defeat, this time 5 runs for 0, and definitively the series.
LAS CLAVES DE LA SERIE / THE KEYS TO THIS SERIES

With the series 3-0 in favor of the Astros, the 4th game seemed to be a routine, this for what was shown on the field, Dusty Baker's team already had the bull by the horns and even though the Yankees in that fourth game started winning, their lack of forcefulness was still evident, So much so, that this advantage would not last, immediately the Astronaut team would turn the game 4-3, the home team would respond by tying the score and then go up 5-4, but the Houston Yankees, always in the game in the 7th, would take total control of the game 6-5 and the final domination of the series.
It is difficult to even say it, but I think Aaron Boone made too many mistakes, although the rest days did not help him at all with his pitchers, due to external causes caused by the weather in his previous series, he seemed a little anxious and desperate for my taste, by changing many times the offensive order in his line-up, added to the preference of placing Matt Carperter who did not see what is called light, colloquially speaking, showing a very low level, costing him several important turns, the evidence is there, 41 strikeouts in 4 games combined for his batters, which I think is the first time it happens, or at least not that I remember. All this should not take away any kind of merits to Houston, that more than advancing to the World Series they had a pending account with the history with those who at the time called them ''cheaters'' for applying a type of practice that was very badly seen.
NUEVAMENTE EN UNA SERIE MUNDIAL / AGAIN IN A WORLD SERIES
Since their first appearance in the Fall Classic since they were moved to the American League, the Houston Astros have attended 4 World Series and consequently have won 4 American League titles since the 2017 season until today, meaning that they are the most successful ninth in this period, a stage in which has emerged a number of franchise talents that adding to other additions, have given the perfect touch for such success in MLB.
In 2017 and 2019 they were labeled as ''cheaters'', for having used a technique, relying on stealing signs to their opponents, but more specifically, originating a suspicion of their opponents, for being very good hitters, more than usual in desicive moments. With this new achievement, those from the far west leave behind endless accusations and successfully lead their team forward, silencing some mouths, including that of the Yankees themselves, who had nothing to say, being widely surpassed by a team that was structured exclusively to win this 2022 championship, in front of the National League, the Philadelphia Phillies, who have been truly inspired and against all odds have reached this stop to define the championship.

Saludos.
