An actifiter's poem about his mundane day.😶
Once upon a day so dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, over my journal of routine, in the dim light filtering through, as I write this message to you, scrawling my tale of monotony, there came a tapping, gently rapping, rat-tat-tatting at my chamber's pane, in the wind's wild, mournful tune.
"Tis some leaf," I muttered, "tapping, seeking shelter from the storm." But the tapping was persistent, like the raven’s cry of lore. And thus I continued, with my phone in hand, my thoughts forlorn as I tapped away this message looking at the bed:
The day was named Typical, in its sameness did it reek; "Nothing much," quoth I, "nothing much," as I wrote with ink so bleak, darker than a ravens beak. I rose with dawn, abluted, fed, then snuck through the labarenthian hall unto to the lavatory, walked beneath the sullen skies, only to return and be sedentary. Each step a repetition, much like the raven's bleak refrain, "Evermore," I thought, "evermore," this cycle shall remain until I am no more but done.
As the sun set, casting shadows long like the raven's dark embrace, I lifted weights in Sisyphean toil, each rep a futile trace. With every lift, I cursed the day, much like Poe with his raven's plight, for in my exercise, like in his poem, there was no end in sight. The wind outside was howling, much like Poe's raven's call, "Nevermore," it seemed to whisper, "Nevermore," in echo of my all.
Yet in this gloom, in this repetition, I find my tale to tell, a modern ode to dullness, where the raven's shadow fell. And as I sit here still, in darkness, writing my daily memoirs with no thrill. I hear the tapping at my window, the day's end with its somber airs. But I, like Mr Edgar Poe, will write on, though the raven might deplore, for in this dreary exercise, perhaps there's something more...
Well my friends, as you can read, today was rather dull but still I walked on. Walking for four miles, and doing weight training. Hopefully you enjoyed my rather mundane little poem, a slight node to the wonderful Edgar Poe's works.✍️
Takke care and sleep well.🥱
