about a decade ago the local football/soccer team built a much needed new playing field. it is a great improvement with much more space and includes a half sized field for the youngest recruits. while that is all well and good the old field was left as an abandoned lot for several years. no activities were held there except for an occaional circus that set up their tent for a day and were gone the next. eventually the local community started a fundraising to build an arena for other sports including handball and basketball. it took several years for the project to come to fruition but after dedicated effort from some of the community sports enthusiasts and support from both private and public initiatives the arena was completed. these shadows are from the facility

while this shadow may resemble a trojan horse in the making it is actually from one of two free standing basketball hoops. i am guessing it would have been possible to erect a simpler design but had that have been done i am not sure the shadow would have been equally impressive.

the handball enthusiasts were not to be outdone when it comes to shadows. the fence surrounding the court is fully moveable and can be removed if needed. luckily it was in place when i was out shadow hunter in the area. the shadow of the fence itself is interesting enough but the handball net adds a lot

there is also a series of ramps for skateboarding but those shadows were rather mundane. non the less, the circular lamp lighting for the ramps gave a nice ufo inspired shadow. sad to say when i was there neither humans or aliens were taking advantage of the equipment so i have no shadows of the place in use.
