AC Milan suffers first defeat of the season in a seven goals thriller

AC Milan’s unbeaten run in the Seria A came to an end after a 4-3 lost to Fiorentina away from home, with the hosts securing their first win in six games against the ‘Rossoneri’ last night in a seven goals triller.

AC Milan's starting line up featured six players who were aged 22 or under and one of those player was, Brahim Díaz, who gave an exquisite pass through to Zlatan Ibrahimović, who slammed in on the early five minutes of the game, only for the Swedish player to be flagged offside for the attempt.

However, the host took the most unexpected lead in the early quarters in as an inswinging corner was dropped by Ac Milan's goalkeeper Ciprian Tătăruşanu which also saw centre-back Matteo Gabbia causing a blunder instead of clearing his lines, which then allowed former Inter Milan midfielder Alfred Duncan to stick out a leg and poke home to put the host in front with a 1-0 lead.

AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimović wasted a golden opportunity to draw level, with the Swede heading wide after Simon Kjær had produced a fine cross and the Swede was quickly made to pay for his wastefulness as Fiorentina's Dušan Vlahović lay off was bent into Tătăruşanu’s top left-hand corner by Riccardo Saponara for his fourth career goal against the 'Rossoneri' and also a 2-0 lead against AC Milan.

The first half ended in a good note for the host as they entered into the break with a deserved 2-0 lead. The second half also started in a good note for the host as well as it was Fiorentina's Vlahović who was on the scoresheet this time after the break, making it 3-0 in the 60th minutes after a clever pass from Alfred Duncan to put the host in a deserved lead after scoring with a fine finish.

Despite the lead, AC Milan still struggled to get back to the game no sooner had the 21-year-old netted. Zlatan Ibrahimović pulled one back and made the most of ex-team mate Giacomo Bonaventura’s pass, hammering past Terracciano from 12-yards out to make it 3-1 for Ac Milan.

Despite the visitors struggling to get back to the game it was Theo Hernández’s who became the villain of the night in the closing stages of the game as he was caught dawdling by Nicolás González, who delivered Vlahović for his 30th goal in 40 Italian top flight matches.

Zlatan Ibrahimović’s stoppage-time header came off the bar and made Lorenzo Venuti score an own goal to make it 4-3, but the home side held tight as the goal was not enough for the visitors to secure a point in the game and it was a well deserved victory Fiorentina.
