On Top Of The World!……..My Actifit Report Card: August 3 2024

That lovely mountain is actually Mt. Baker, an active and overdue for eruption volcano! It is part of the Ring of Fire of the Pacific. Directly southward are Sisters, a craggy mountain scape included in the Cascades. Beautiful to look at!

Now, a bit farther south is a mountain known as Mt. Si. This mountain is craggy as well. They say there are two trails up-one that is difficult and one that is more so! Our son and his wife plus doggie Phoenix were up while we were yet sleeping, making their way to the top of Mt. Si!

I know he carried Phoenix pretty much all the way as her short little legs would never make that climb! See @silvertop’s post for Phoenix the mountain climbing doggie! 🐶

I’m not sure there was much to stand on up there! 🫣

Poor Phoenix was done in when they got home.

They began that journey in the dark and climbed it mostly in the dark as they took the pics and video at about 6:30 AM. It’s a minimum 2.5 hour climb and descent.

Our day began a bit milder but with some trepidation as we made our way to the Northwest Washington Fair Grounds to enter my first ever photography entry! The Fair opens up this coming Thursday however, we won’t get there until that following Monday to see if I get lucky and win a ribbon. Fingers crossed!🤞

Afterwards, I had a Zoom meeting and then we set out for Home Depot to take some rebar back and get a couple boards. While out, I figured we may as well go to Walmart to pick up the things on the list that come from there. Of course, no weekend outing is complete without a coffee stop!
