Cot And Caturday……My Actifit Report Card: January 18 2025

Have you told your kitty, Happy Caturday? If not, well then snap to it! Yes, it’s our cute and furry little felines day of weekly celebration! Cot was celebrating as I was sorting laundry. As you can tell by those lethal toenails of his, he did not want to let me have those jeans!

After getting a load started, we headed to Bellingham Costco. We purchased a battery just before Thanksgiving in November, to replace a 12 year old original equipment battery that came with my Suzuki SX4 Crossover when we purchased it new in 2012. According to the battery indicator, it was still technically good, but really, whoever heard of ANY battery lasting that long? So we thought we’d get a new one.

It’s not been overly cold here until this past week. I started noticing in the mornings going to work, that it was bogging down somewhat when I start it to go to work. Wednesday a little bogged, Thursday a little more and Friday a LOT! I mentioned it to @silvertop which prompted him to get the Ohm meter out and check. The battery was sitting at 12.44 which is about a 50% charge! What?! This battery is less than 2 months old!

The car is charging the battery, and as you drive it and park and then restart when you’re ready to go, it bogs down less and less until you barely notice it. Costco said our only recourse was to purchase a second battery and install it as they don’t install them, and then bring back the old new one for a refund. So, that’s what we ended up doing. This battery is over $150! We’re taking the old new one back on Monday. 😏

Here’s another couple of pictures of the frozen downspout chain. I spied it out the kitchen window this morning and had to go see.

While at Costco, @silversaver888, I saw something you would like-a lot!

I should have gotten one, but I didn’t. 😔 Maybe I might when we return the battery ! 😁

That kind of wraps up the day. Tomorrow is Sunday which means church. I always enjoy the day.
