This Is The Day………My Actifit Report Card: June 3 2024
……the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it! Yes, despite always seemingly to have nothing but rain, you must also make lemonade out of lemons! 🍋 consequently, I was able to do a little reading I’d been wanting to do as well as some housework that needed doing! We’re under a wind advisory (isn’t that just a fall/winter thing here?) until sometime tomorrow. Of course, it’s rained like there’s no tomorrow, but at the same time, we’ve had spots of brilliant sunshine too. Even raining while the sun was shining! My grandma always said the devil was getting married when it rained while the sun was shining. Well, looks like he got married several times today! 😏
Mid afternoon, we headed out for a road hike as we hadn’t done that in quite a while and there’s less likelihood of bugs! 😳
Started out with grey skies, then a peppering rain, the sun and last but not least, sun and rain together! I couldn’t quite decide if I needed to open and/or close my umbrella!☂️ Craziness! 🤪
Anyway, here’s some pics from the day.
Trees that grow like this tend to indicate that the ground they are growing in is geographically unstable.
It must not be THAT unstable given the size of it. I’d wager a guess of 200-250 years old!
It was a nice change of scenery. 😁

Thanks sis! My grandma was living in North Carolina when I knew her. I think that if I checked the family tree a relative gave me years ago, she might have been from Georgia area. I'm guessing this might have roots in the Appalachian area, but I don't know if she was from that area or not. She also believed that sitting in the yard in a chair barefoot would pull illness or pain out of you. I can attest that it will help if you are hurting. I think that if you research this, it has something to do with grounding yourself with the earth; almost like an electrical ground, if you will. I believe some do call it 'grounding'. She was very interesting. I miss her. She died many years ago.
