The Calm After The Storm……My Actifit Report Card: November 13 2023

The calm after the storm…..

This weekend past had proven to be somewhat stressful. With the downed tree and lengthy power outage, the entire road really needed a break!

That’s when I heard this indistinguishable noise. It kind of sounded like a chipper/shredder, but not exactly and whatever it was, was big sounding! @silvertop made his way out to the road. There were some county workers out the with a wicked looking piece of machinery that literally was eating the huge pieces of the tree like it was nothing! 😳 He approached one of the workers and asked if they’d not destroy this one round he had his eyes on. They said sure!

A little later, after they’d moved on up the road, he went out to get this round. The plan was to take his Fiskars ax and split it, load it into the wheelbarrow and bring it home. They had even staged it for him. Well, turns out this tree was big and green enough, that his miracle ax could not hardly get into it! @silvertop splits a LOT of firewood daily. He has no trouble doing it. This tree wasn’t coming home. See @silvertop’ post for more on that stubborn tree!

I had a call this morning with the new office software gal and am now able to go into the sandbox and play around with it. 😁

In the afternoon, we headed out for a hike. Jan came with. The hike was up to the off grid cabin. Here’s some eye candy for you…….of the ‘shroomy variety.

It was surprisingly sunny-a nice day overall!
