A Late Bloomer........My Actifit Report Card: July 29 2023
A late bloomer……
Traditionally, digitalis blooms every other year, late May to June. On today’s hike however, I found a late bloomer. Actually, there were several of them in the area surrounding this one-a little micro climate, so to speak. It was a pretty surprise. 🤩
After I got up this morning, one of the first things I noticed was that I could smell my shower gel. I was a bit taken aback as I’ve had zero sense of smell. When I went to make a coffee for giggles, because really, what’s the point if you can’t taste it? Much to my surprise, I could taste it as well as the protein bar I was consuming so that I could take my antibiotics for my jaw. Interesting 🧐
We had a couple errands to run, so I suggested a mocha frappe while out since @silvertop was struggling with the coffee not tasting good. I’m happy to say I could taste that as well and that it was palatable to him as well!
We came home and set out for a hike. Here’s some eye candy for you!

Yes, that is one luscious blackberry, just one of many more like it up and down the road. They are beginning to ripen and are absolutely huge! Suffice it to say I ate it! I couldn’t resist after stopping to take the pic. It was warm and super sweet-a perfect little tasty morsel of things to come. I’m envisioning a blackberry cobbler in the near future!
