A Mix Of Sun.........My Actifit Report Card: April 24 2023

A mixture of sun and clouds! Today was one of those days where you think it’s a sunny day and then suddenly-it isn’t! This first picture was taken while hiking this afternoon and this next one about 10 minutes later.

Earlier, while @silvertop was working once again planting trees, I decided today was a good day to take my garden kneeler and gardening tools set, and get started on my gardening! It was beautifully sunny. I got everything hauled up to where the garden was. I was getting ready to begin planting when it got dark and the heavens opened up! 🤨🙄 It just figures-right?! I put everything in the greenhouse and went back indoors. I debated a bit and stalled until it stopped. I went back and pulled everything back out and commenced gardening.

I first put the tomato plants back out in the greenhouse. The forecast has no freezing temperatures in the 10 day outlook, so I’m thinking it’s safe to put them out there again.

Then, I planted some purple onion starts.

Next, I planted some red and some Yukon gold potatoes. You will also see in this picture 3 Brussels sprouts plants that survived the winter and a newly planted curly kale plant.

We grew up with ‘silver queen’ corn. I found seeds for this and planted them in two round fabric containers.

The topsoil where the sunniest part of the yard is, isn’t very good. So for now, most things are grown in containers.

Going back to the tomato plants though…….looky there!

I’m waiting for it to ripen. I’ve got a couple more coming and many more to anticipate!
