Coffee Day!........My Actifit Report Card: April 18 2023

It’s coffee day! ☕️☕️☕️

My coffee supplier emailed an offer I couldn’t refuse-$10 off of a 65 pound box of coffee plus the coffee I selected was on sale! Much to good of a deal to pass up, so I ordered. It arrived today! As you can see, Cot had to investigate.

I attended ladies Bible study today. It was nice to fellowship with the ladies and delve into the Word. When it was over, a quick stop to drop off a library book, go to the local grocer for some coupon items ending today and run by the post office for the clinic mail.

Once lunch was done, we went to the 3 P’s to get some mulch. See @silvertop’s post for pics, but suffice it to say poor Lori wore a l lot of it as the wind kicked up just as she began to dump it in the truck!🙀. Needless to say, she’d been mulched!

Once back, we met up with Jan and headed out for a hike up to the cabin. Here was the view.

Then once the hike was done, it was time for a coffee roasting lesson as @actifit-lamb has been wanting to learn.

Now, the first thing she noticed was the difference in the color from one coffee to the other. I explained the coffee on her right which is darker, is mom’s water processed decaf. The other lighter and greener, was dad’s coffee. She was very intrigued by this.

She wanted to see the roasting process up close. I’d fired up the roaster on the right with my decaf, so she climbed up onto the second roaster which we’d not fired up yet. She was fascinated by the swirling beans! I explained that these are fluid bed roasters. Hot air comes up from below making the beans dance in the carafe and in doing so, they roast evenly. Then I had to get her down as it was time to fire up the second roaster and we didn’t want any singed lamb’s tails!🙀

We got what we needed done. The decaf was a brand new bag that I opened for today. The new coffee that arrived today was not roasted as I had already struggled with snipping the sewing on the decaf bag to gain access. It’s one of those tedious things I don’t have patience for, so one bag opening was my limit for today.

Tomorrow will be a busy day at the clinic and my Monday. Hopefully it will all go smoothly.
