Are You Kidding Me?!.......My Actifit Report Card: January 3 2023

Are you kidding me?! I remember a line from I believe, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation where it was said, ‘there are long lines everywhere this time of year’. Well, it’s after Christmas, but the lines are there more than ever at the post office! I stood in line for over an hour and 15 minutes, to get my Amazon order that had arrived on the 21st of December. I had been told at ladies Bible study today, that if the line was at the back entrance to the building, it was a 3+ hour wait! Who has that kind of time? @silvertop talked me into going back in and waiting. I thought it’d only be about 30 minutes. Wrong! I found out as we all stood there talking amongst ourselves, that once you made it to the window, it would be 45-60 minutes for them to find your stuff!! Crazy-right?! I stayed and did hear them tell one of the people directly after me, that it would be that long. Fortunately, it was only about 20+ minutes once they took my information before I got my packages. 😳🙄🤪

So, apparently the problem isn’t just at our post office, but at others in the area as well. Little to no mail is actually getting delivered including my PO Box. I notice most folks were pulling Amazon order tracking.

So here’s what I kind of wonder: if people are paying for Amazon Prime for delivery in 1-2 days, then Amazon might need to: 1- reduce the cost of prime and extend delivery times; 2- change carriers to FedEx or UPS; 3- get their own delivery fleet; or 4- light a fine under USPS’s higher ups to get more people in there to help their people! This is crazy all around; for the customers; for the workers-there has to be some kind of solution! Imagine the impact on other businesses and individuals as well!

I’m frustrated with the whole thing and I do feel for the postal workers too.

Once home, we set out for a hike. Jan had other obligations and was unable to come.

It was a good day in the end, but with some orders still in the pipeline, will I be waiting 2+ weeks for what is promised as 1-2 days?

Tomorrow is my first workday of this new year and it’s an earlier than normal (although this seems it’s becoming the norm) morning. Now, if those insurance company websites will just work right!
