My Actifit Report Card: December 24 2022

Well! I’m not sure exactly where to begin, but around 7:30 last night our power went. So, we have no water as we have a well and we unfortunately discovered we didn’t have much gas for the generator so we could charge our solar batteries as the sun ☀️ has not been playing nice lately!

We called our oldest son and asked if he’d be willing to try to get gas and head our way today. He agreed and as he and his wife slowly made their way toward our house, @silvertop began a arduous hike towards Everson to meet them. It was impossible to ascend the hill along the South Pass road, as many who tried today found themselves stranded and in multi car accidents! 🙀 We figured it’d be safer lower and since we hike a lot, 2.5 miles is not far! The ice however made it difficult.

Our son and his wife made it and the gas was in @silvertop’s possession. See @silvertop’s post for the interesting ‘ride’ he got home! 😳

Needless to say, I stayed home and kept the fire 🔥 going and the house warm! 😁 our trip down south to our youngest son and his wife, will be postponed until early January. There is an unbelievable amount of ice on the roads! It went up to 48 degrees Fahrenheit which seems impossible given that two days ago, our low was around 8 degrees Fahrenheit!😳😳😳🥶 That’s a 40 degree swing! 🤪🤪🤪

Anyway, the day is winding down now. It’s Christmas Eve and time to focus on the meaning of Christmas.

For me, 2.5 miles is quite far. It's like walking to the next town. I hope the power will be restored or get sufficient gas. Or probably the sun. Keep safe there with Silver. I'm always hoping for the good of you two.
