It Was A Frosty Morning!....My Actifit Report Card: December 12 2022

I needed to roast coffee for a customer in Portland, so that was first on the agenda for the day. I’ve got a newer coffee that I’ve been roasting and had noticed it seemed to have much more chaff than other coffees I’ve roasted. While working on that, our son called. Sometime into the conversation, I’d walked back into the kitchen to discover roaster number two was throwing sparks!!🙀🙀🙀. That’s so not normal, so we tried to deflect the sparks from going up into the motorized vent as under the right circumstances, it could catch fire! 🔥 🙀 The cycle finished and the roaster turned off. It didn’t roast correctly-a medium light roast instead of the usual rich dark roast. So that coffee, we’re keeping, but there was a tremendous amount of chaff in the capture chamber, which was blocking the exhaust of the heat and the smoke, hence almost catching the chaff on fire. 🔥
I got out a second coffee whose roasting habits are more predictable, and mixed it with the other. Problem solved! 😅
Whereas the sparks were pretty, it could have serious results! Thank goodness I found it before ignition! 😅
It was then off to the post office to get the coffees mailed to my customer and pick up the mail. Once we returned home, we geared up for a hike. Jan is now sick and did not come with. We actually haven’t hiked with her since last Monday, so at least she didn’t catch it from us.
As we headed up the road, Mike, Joan’s husband was coming home. Joan is our neighbor who passed away suddenly on the 3rd. He seemed good; but you could see the underlying sadness in his eyes. I feel so bad for him. 🥺
We continued on up, and around the pond area, it had never thawed out. It was a frosty morning, and in some places, the frost remains. Semi permafrost! 😏. It made for some lovely, frosty pics!
I always anticipate every fall, the frosty edged leaf photos and this is the first time this fall, that I’ve been able to find them! I’ve got more to share on another post.
I’m looking forward to a Christmas movie tonight and a relaxing evening.

I'm not sure either to tell you the truth. He didn't seem to take my sickness, but then this came along, so I don't know if I gave it to him or not. It's definitely hit him harder than it did me. On the flip side; the tiny house family has been passing their sickness back and forth for around 6 weeks. I guess it all depends on the incubation period. I'm hoping it ends with him as I don't want to miss out going to Bill and Agi's on the 23rd!

Woaah those dried fallen leaves with some frost looks great to me as I never seen them in person ever since.

It was a good day, thank you @leo-fairy! I am glad you love coffee; you can never have enough. I roast decaf for myself, but it is the absolute best tasting decaf ever and naturally processed!

Thanks for your kind reply, actually I have my coffee in a unhealthy way like adding milk powder and sugar but only coffee is good for our health. Nice to know you roast decaf and made it healthy. Enjoy drinking.

Hey sis! Thank you! We did; it was a Polish movie dubbed in English called David's Elf. It's the second one of dubbed in English movies we've watched lately. I'm trying for one per evening of Christmas movies as I enjoy anything Christmas!
You should try coffee! Espresso (from my viewpoint) is best when you add cocoa, milk (I can't drink milk, so I use almond milk) steamed and frothed and then a touch of whipped cream with chocolate drizzle. Oh-I almost forgot the flavored syrup Irish Cream! Quite tasty! It's almost a dessert unto itself!

It was nice yesterday; not so much today unfortunately. They changed the 10 sunny days into cloudy and possible rain and/or snow. I don't mind the snow, but the rain.........
