I have never been so glad to see the weekend as I am this time around! It was a busy day at work with lots of patients and lots of orders. As the day drew too a close, I could almost feel myself getting a little giddy, lol!🤣 My two week workweek of doing full time was over! Yippee!🤠
After work, I was still technically working as I had to rush to the post office 🏤 to do another EDDM mailing. I made it before they closed! 😅 Then it was back to the local grocery store 🏬 to pick up a couple of items and then headed for home. 🏡
We headed out for a mini hike 🥾 and as fate would have it, ran into half the neighborhood as well! It was nice to see everyone for sure but I needed to get going and get back home. I needed coffee and needed to work on my post. Best laid plans-right? Once home, coffees were made and now I’m writing this post. Here’s a couple pics from tonight’s hike. 🥾
Yes, it’s a garden snake-he’s harmless, but maybe the biggest one I’ve seen this year at about two feet in length.
Tomorrow find us headed to church for more sound installation details and then on to a bit of shopping for @silvertop.

It's what I like to refer to the beginning stage of a fossil! No, but seriously, it was in the road, just before the trailhead, and had been run over by a few cars, so it reflected the surface of the road under it. As for the snake; he's harmless and very cold!🤗😘❤️🌹
Wow, even if the snake is harmless, he's still a snake. Although I would love to take a photo of him, but I will keep my distance 😅 coz I am afraid of snakes. How close are you when you took that shot head on?
Hi @elizacheng! I was only about 12" away. I don't mind garden snakes and usually move them off of the roadway with a stick to keep them from being squished by traffic. This guy was in our driveway, so he was safe from cars.
On a funny note though; some years ago, I had a very small pond out back of the house and had goldfish in the pond. I happened upon a bigger snake of this same variety with one of my goldfish in his mouth! Not on my watch! I grabbed him by the tail and smacked his head in the water. He dropped the fish and I then flung him into the backyard someplace. I don't remember where he landed, but he was not having my fish for lunch, lol!

I know it sounds wimpy, but when you have done 3 days a week for 8+ years and suddenly you are thrust back into the 40 workweek, your body totally rebels! I was never so glad for this weekend!
As for the snake, he is a harmless garden variety and does no harm to humans. I usually move them with a stick if they are in the road, but this was in our driveway and he was safe from cars there. He was probably cold. We fortunately, have no poisonous snakes here where we live.
