My Actifit Report Card: January 6 2022
Hi everybody and thanks for stopping by today!
❄️❄️❄️☃️❄️❄️❄️! Yes, it snowed as predicted. We got 6+ inches and it stopped everybody cold! I didn’t even try to go to work. If we had only put the studded tires on earlier this fall……..
Such is life, here in the Northwest! Apparently the entire state got snowed-in; so much so they have closed ALL the passes over the mountains!😳 No one can seem to remember the last time they did that! They’re saying maybe they might get one of them open by Saturday-maybe.
Consequently I was a little lost today as when I’m supposed to be at work-I’m supposed to be at work! @silvertop headed out to shovel against my wishes as our driveway is just too much to do! I got him to come in for a hot lunch. Afterwards he went back to it and I set out on foot to see if they’d plowed North Pass Road. Much to my surprise, I found it had been plowed! There were only about 2 or 3 sets of tire tracks going out, so I told @silvertop to stop shoveling and let’s get the car and the already mounted on rims-snow tires and head to Lynden to get them put on the car. So that’s what we did.
We got to Les Schwab and gave them the car while we waited in their waiting area. One of the worker’s was having too much fun removing snow!
They finished with the car and upon heading out to go home, it became apparent it was raining! It’s 27 degrees and rain? How does it even do that?
Now that my trusty steed had her studs (stilettos, as I call them) we were ready to face the now quickly accumulating snow/ice/slush that was on the roadway. 💪 It rained all the way home and the closer we got, the more of a distinguished shine radiated on the surface of the snow. What a nightmare tomorrow is going to be! We hit North Pass, and it became thicker on the road. We trudged onward. The rule with the road we live on is this: in snow, you must downshift to 2nd gear prior to turning onto it. You then must‘punch’ it or you will find yourself gravity fed into the creek! It’s not a nice road for snow, plus it wasn’t plowed at all. I took my running start and ‘punched’ it! Thank goodness 4WD!! It was a bit slippery even with it, but I was able to shoot into the driveway and then had about 30 feet of unshoveled drive before hitting the cleared area. There was a collective sigh in the car when I turned the motor off 😅 I’m going to let tomorrow worry about tomorrow and try to find some calm tonight!
Here’s a lovely example of relaxation.
Do something nice for yourself tonight! Take care!

Thanks @lesmann! Tomorrow going to work might be interesting! I'm wondering if either I or my boss will actually make it in. We shall see! Take care my friend and stay blessed!

And my day is just starting.
Oh my......💜🤗
Wow!
Rain and snow same time?
What's something...
Lovely you got back safe and now warm.
Thanks for sharing as always❤️🤗
Thank you @queenstarr, for stopping by!💜🤗
Snow! Do you like the snow? I have heard some people don't but it looks lovely. Where you able to make it to work? If I lived there, I am sure I would love days like this! Lazy me! 😅
Hi @ladytitan! I do like snow! I just don't like when they don't plow our roads as it becomes stressful. It's not a dry snow like Colorado; this is wet and slick and creates all kinds of road hazards. They haven't plowed as in years past due to their firing folks over the vaccine which has created a staffing shortage.
I has been a snowy 2 weeks here. Even with all the rain we got last night and part of today, it is still 6+ inches deep!
Take care and have a lovely weekend!
No snow here but the rain has been intense. So it’s all urban flooding, landslides and hoping the ground dries out before trees decide to fall.
I saw today that they were evacuating portions of coastal Puget Sound. I hope you are safe. Today here, we are one big slush puddle! You step into one, and you might just sink, never to be seen again!
Take care @dfinney and have a great weekend!
