Glad to celebrate you all and to also bring to your notices that Tobiloba Amusan has set in the African women hurdles, this trully is not a work of a single night, this is a proof of staying power, determination and resilience, there had been several records in the African women hurdle but this the new record that Amusan has set and we all celebrate this height of greatness.
Its amazing that amusan created this amazing height, 12.41 seconds in the African 100m hurdle record is not a childs play, this was at the Diamond League in Paris, she came out as the third best run of the season.
just about nine months ago, she had a record of 12.42 seconds, at the finals of the diamond League in zurich last year
The Nigerian was tipped as favourite to win the seventh leg of the scheduled 14 legs of the money-spinning one day meet and she fulfilled expectations in a record breaking fashion.
Running from lane five, Amusan shot out of the blocks in lightning fashion but was headed by reigning World Indoor champion over the 60m hurdles, Cyréna Samba-Mayela.
it is on record that about four days earlier in turku paavo nurmi game, at the finland race, she created a new 12.57 seconds
its amazing that the clock read 12.41 seconds and this became the new African record for the african reigning Games of the African Championships, Commonwealth Games and Diamond League champions. this is a plus for Nigerian, and there are maximum rewards with it.
For her effort, the Nigerian will be rewarded with the eight maximum points on offer to move top of the event’s standing with 15 points and $10,000 in prize money.
Amusan will be expected to focus her attention on the Nigerian Athletics Championships that is to take place this week in Benin, so as to retain the nigerian 100m hurdle title of which she won last year, we are expecting her to break the records of 12.63second led by the 25 year old angela Atede in the Championship record.
Amusan has proven to continued her amazing display of the season, this as a matter of fact has earned her two gold medals in the 100m women’s hurdles, She really did amazingly and ended very well in the pack in Paris, we saw Devynne Charlton of Bahamas taking the second position with 12.63s while Cindy Sember of the great britain secured the third place with 12.73s
With the new develpment, Amusan has becomes the third- world fastest women in hurdle 2022, she is just a few seconds behind the Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico at 12.37seconds, then the 12.40 seconds of Alaysha Johnson in US.
we look forward to seeing her podium placements in oregon, World Athletics Championship in the US, coming up by next month, as well as the commonwealth games in birmingham, England come July 28th to August t0 call lully in recent form emphasises her quest for podium placements at the World Athletics Championship in Oregon, US, next month and the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, from July 28 to August 8.
