Los pinareños en su ciudad, tienen una joyita de la gastronomía que frecuentan con bastante regularidad. Ubicado en el mismo corazón de Vueltabajo, se encuentra dicha instalación, donde se puede disfrutar de lo sabroso de la cocina Italiana. Hoy les traeré una pequeña reseña sobre dicho local, del cual debo decir, ha acogido en muchísimas ocasiones a este servidor. Si eres de los amantes de la degustación de las pastas, este es el lugar para ti, entre otras ofertas habituales que te prometo, pasarás un rato agradable.

The people of Pinar del Río have a gastronomic jewel in their city that they frequent quite regularly. Located in the very heart of Vueltabajo, you will find this place, where you can enjoy the tasty Italian cuisine. Today I will bring you a little review about this place, which I must say, has hosted many times this server. If you are a pasta tasting lover, this is the place for you, among other usual offers that I promise you, you will have a great time.

Recuerdo la primera vez que visité el restaurante, fue con mi novia de toda la vida, mi querida madre. Apenas era un niño, que salía muy poco a estos paseos, pero el encanto del lugar hizo huella en mí. Desde que llegas a la Terrazina, te roba la vista una hermosa vegetación bien diseñada a sus alrededores, algo que se agradece en una selva de cemento y asfalto como la ciudad, la cual ha devorado como depredador todo indicio de vegetación.

I remember the first time I visited the restaurant, it was with my lifelong girlfriend, my dear mother. I was just a child, who rarely went on these walks, but the charm of the place left its mark on me. From the moment you arrive at the Terrazina, the view is stolen by the beautifully designed vegetation surrounding it, something that is appreciated in a jungle of cement and asphalt like the city, which has devoured like a predator all traces of vegetation.

En las diferentes etapas de mi vida en que he frecuentado el lugar, he visto muchos cambios, algunos para bien, como su última renovación, que ya lleva algunos añitos, donde se le adopta un diseño al estilo japonés. Que no está nada mal a mi entender, pues considero que el comensal agradece la vista interior que ofrece el local, mientras espera ser atendido por el servicio. Lo negativo que he podido apreciar es que, aunque hemos ido evolucionando, al parecer las ofertas van en decadencia lastimosamente.

In the different stages of my life in which I have frequented the place, I have seen many changes, some for the better, such as its last renovation, which has been going on for a few years now, where a Japanese style design has been adopted. Which is not bad in my opinion, because I think that the diner appreciates the interior view offered by the place, while waiting to be served by the service. The negative thing that I have been able to appreciate is that, although we have been evolving, it seems that the offers are pitifully declining.

No somos pocos los que almorzamos o cenamos en dicho lugar, ya sea en una fecha escogida o casual, porque además de disfrutar de un servicio a nivel de restaurante, único en toda la provincia o al menos estatalmente hablando, también la elaboración de sus platos es lo bastante acertada. Así es, por eso es nuestra joyita, ya que es lo único que tenemos institucionalmente, para disfrutar de este tipo de servicio acorde con la desangrada economía en que vivimos, por lo tanto, también sabemos lo expuesto a cambios que se encuentran por dicho motivo.

There are not few of us who have lunch or dinner in this place, either on a chosen or casual date, because in addition to enjoying a service at restaurant level, unique in the whole province or at least statewide speaking, also the preparation of their dishes is quite successful. That is why it is our jewel, since it is the only thing we have institutionally, to enjoy this type of service according to the bled economy in which we live, therefore, we also know how exposed to changes that are for that reason.

Es cierto que si el local se le entregara a una gestión particular, muchísimas cosas cambiarían; sin embargo, el precio sería lo primero en notarse a cambio. Para mantener muchísima más variedad de ofertas, claramente como resultado no se podría acceder con regularidad como a otros sitios que existen, al menos no para todos. Por eso ojalá que los que gestionan dicho centro gastronómico, sigan trabajando por mantener su sello característico de prestarle servicio a la población, que tanto lo agradece y necesita.

Hacía un tiempo que no asistía, creo que por desconocimiento de que había vuelto abrir sus puertas, pues estuvo un periodo sin prestar servicios. Quizás por ese resultado es que pocos en la ciudad han notado que ha vuelto, fue que llegamos encontrándonos el local sin mucha clientela, aunque era un poco antes del horario de almuerzo. Había llamado en la mañana porque quería almorzar allí con mi compañera, recuerdo que era por reservación; sin embargo, la mujer que me atendió por teléfono me informó que era por orden de llegada.

It had been a while since I had been there, I think because I was unaware that it had reopened its doors, since it had been out of service for a period of time. Entrando al restaurante nos recibe un pequeño bar, donde en otros tiempos se degustaba la preparación de tragos de todo tipo, me encantaban las piñas coladas que allí hacían, pero ya no solo quedan latas de cerveza de la marca Holanda. Nos atiende muy amablemente el encargado, llevándonos a una mesa para dos con una vista del local bastante acogedora. No tuvimos que esperar demasiado, enseguida nos van sirviendo la mesa con sus cubiertos y demás presentaciones.

Entering the restaurant we are greeted by a small bar, where in the past they used to prepare all kinds of drinks, I loved the piña coladas they used to make there, but there are no longer only cans of Holanda beer left. We were very kindly served by the manager, who took us to a table for two with a very cozy view of the place. We didn't have to wait too long, we were immediately served a table with cutlery and other presentations.

El camarero nos trae la carta, nos da un tiempo para escoger las ofertas que tenían disponibles, que no eran muchas lastimosamente; sin embargo, funcionaba para disfrutar del momento de un almuerzo diferente. Pedimos lo mismo para cada uno, un plato de espaguetis napolitano con jamón y una pizza de la misma especialidad. No había ofertas de entrantes, así que pedimos unas cervezas, las que fuimos tomando mientras escuchábamos la música suave que regalaba el local, en la pequeña espera en que nos trajeran el pedido.

The waiter brings us the menu, gives us some time to choose the offers they had available, which were not many unfortunately; however, it worked to enjoy the moment of a different lunch. We ordered the same for each of us, a plate of Neapolitan spaghetti with ham and a pizza of the same specialty. There were no starters on offer, so we ordered a few beers, which we drank while listening to the soft music of the place, while waiting for our order to be brought to us.

Primeramente, nos llega el espagueti, el que se deja ver con bastante proporción y presentación, al degustar, pues lo bastante agradable al paladar. La ausencia de servilletas en la mesa nos hacía un poco de gracia, bromeábamos cuando alguno de los dos se nos embarraba de pasta los labios. Seguidamente, nos traen las pizzas que al igual que los espaguetis traían una muy buena presentación, aunque el queso con que contaba el restaurante no era del mejor que digamos, solo un cubano entendería.

First, we get the spaghetti, which is quite proportionate and well presented, and when we taste it, it is quite pleasant to the palate. The absence of napkins on the table made us a little funny, we joked when one of us smeared pasta on our lips. Next, they brought us the pizzas which, like the spaghetti, had a very good presentation, although the cheese in the restaurant was not the best, only a Cuban would understand.

Luego de quedar satisfechos pedimos la cuenta de lo que habíamos consumido, agradecimos el servicio prestado tanto verbal como en propina, nos llevamos de allí otro momento diferente, de esos que necesitamos con regularidad. Regresamos a casa dando un pequeño paseo por la ciudad que se encontraba en su horario pico de transeúntes. Por mi parte la pasé bien, mi esposa no dejaba esconder lo feliz que se sintió en la salida, que para nada estaba planificada por cierto, porque precisamente quería que se sintiera así como uno de esos planes de momento, como cuando le dices a un niño ´´ vístete que vamos al parque de diversiones´´.
