Eagle FC 44 results, Khabib sends contract to Jake Paul; Ngannou paid in BTC & UFC Antitrust Lawsuit; Kevin Holland submits troll; Bellator results; PILLOW FIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!
Listen, it's not because there aren't any UFC events, that we will be starving this weekend.
I mean, come on dude, Eagle FC, Bellator, Bare Knuckle Fighting and even a Pillow Fight Championship, I watched 4 hours of it for you, and it was entertaining but I can't tell you exactly what it's about!
Eagle FC results
I don't know if you've even heard of Eagle FC, but it's the MMA organization that the previous UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov started, and this weekend was Eagle FC 44 so I guess there has already been 43 events before? Why am I not hearing about it in the news?
Is it because the UFC is trying to keep monopsony (it's a real word and now you feel stupid haha, don't worry I didn't know about it before watching a video shared in this post)?
The retired 42 years old Rashad Evans, made his comeback against Gabriel Checco:
Anyway he won the fight, that's all you need to know about it!
Those dreadlocks are looking good Rashad, he took control on the ground and as the fight is ending he is in top position with a ground & pound, the bell rang though and it was not a ref stoppage.
Any other interesting fights during the event? Yeah, a whole bunch of them, some TKOs, some submissions, Kamaru Usman with Chael Sonnen and Henry Cejudo as commentators, I would even recommend the event!
Khabib has also sent a contract to Jake Paul, even The Sun is talking about it so you know it's for real.
Ngannou Paid in BTC
The current UFC champ shows how smart he is, by first being in a stalemate with the UFC as he won't accept the offer to renew his contract, which is totally understandable, the company known for underpaying his fighters, and rest assured that we will hear soon about similar cases like the Ngannou situation.
Another smart move by Ngnannou that has secured another victory using wrestling last weekend, will receive half of his purse in Bitcoin. It's unsure how much of it is a marketing ploy by Appcash, but it doesn't matter, it's good for all of us. Crypto.com has also become the main sponsor of the UFC, which shows how fast the industry is accepting cryptocurrency.
Ngannou & the UFC Antitrust Lawsuit
This is a lawsuit that has been ongoing since 2014, and it would probably deserve a post of its own, it's pretty clear that the MMA industry is going through major changes, and we might after all see an union being created very soon, that's a step in the right direction. You can check that very good video by MMA ON POINT, breaking down what the lawsuits entails for people like you and me. It also briefly mentions that Ngannou is paving the way, and other will probably follow very soon.
As much as I love the UFC, something has to change, and I am all for true competition, the end of the monopoly.
Kevin Holland submits an online troll!
Trailblazer proves that you can't just talk shit online, even if you're a supposed black belt. So Kevin paid the bus, and the hotel for that troll and submitted him pretty quickly, notice the little slap at the end 😄
Pillow Fight Championship
One could argue that boxing is already a pillow fight 😁, but how about an actual pillow fight, with rules, and a ref?
Say no more, check this out:
Imagine telling to your parents that you are a pro pillow fighter, I think it's not worse than slapping competitions, but probably not better than medieval fighting championship.
Bellator
I can't blame you if you didn't even know that Ryan Bader was fighting this weekend, and I also can't blame you if you don't know who it is.
He is a fighter, and he won this weekend. Hahaha.
Alright for those that want to know a little more, there were some good fights during that Bellator event, even a guy called Dwayne Johnson fought, but it's not the Rock.
Gonzalez kicked Awad to the face in the prelims:
Then in the main event it took 25 minutes to know if Ryan Bader was unifying the belt, and...I dosed off a few times 😗
In all truth, you probably don't even realize how many events were happening Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but I can't really blame you, even for a purist like me, it's becoming hard to follow, especially when now I have to tune in for Pillow Fighting Championship.
(pic: screen capture as an example from a "streaming website", who in hell would pay for those events?)
What other "sport" can we create? How about broom riding championship, or dogboard (skateboarding a dog, not a dog on a skateboard)?
Create a silly sport in the comment section, and the best one will receive a 1000 SPORTS!!
I thought the pillow fight part was a joke hahaha can't believe that it's actually real lmao 😂
They have broom riding already it's called Quiddich - people actually play it lol.
A ridiculous sport we used to do as teenagers was "tree tipping." You go into the woods and throw your body into dead trees to knock them over.
Brilliant!
Don't you dare compare broom riding to Quidditch, you must be a seeker for sure 😁
Haha I've never played but it does look enjoyable in a nerdy ironic sort of way lol
I didn't even know you could really play it! They made it entertaining in the books though, for shizzle!
Yeah man. It looks ridiculous with them holding the broom but what evs. They play all over the place. There's even a team in Limoges France. They use a pole without broom bristles though hahaha.
Of course there is a team in Limoges, because they got no balls over there 😄
I couldn't help it haha, as you said, this is a little silly, I don't know what to think about this, I need to digest this information.
Great to see Ngannou getting paid in Bitcoin... Hopefully he'll start a trend now and I see Crypto.com sponsoring now too as you say. The next bull run will be very interesting.
Yeah it's great for us, and for the sport too.
I don't really mind if it's in another 2 years, in the meantime we can accumulate. What did you think of Pillow Fighting Championship, it's pretty close to hurling?
Ha ha, the pillow fighting was pure funny, it least the guys weren't too intense and were kind of laughing as they went and obviously see the absurdity of it all! You won't catch anyone smiling on a hurling pitch in the heat of battle though! :)
Hahaha I was just pulling your leg, hurling is a warrior sport, nothing like these guys, though most of them are MMA fighters and boxers, just having fun.
Ha ha, sure I know well you're messing or taking the piss as we say :)
It's certainly interesting, can I get paid in btc to pillow fight? Or even compete in the flaming marsmallow baton fight? Maybe next they'll have fights with jizz rags. Loser is everyone.
Oh well thanks for watching it so I didn't have to!
Bahahahahhaha
I was also thinking bacon slapping championship, people slap slices of bacon at each other, for 3 rounds, and so on. You can also block any attacks by eating the bacon.
Before the fight you can decide if you want to be slapped with crispy bacon, or more softly cooked bacon.
I seriously thought of it as you can see.
So much happening and great to catch up with an all in one post.
Yes indeed, I crammed as many info into one post, and I had to delete some of the "lesser news" about Conor Mcgregor 😄 as he is making the news every week.
Cheers!
Pillow fight is interesting to watch 😃, I hope it doesn't kill the boxing we all know.
Lol I think boxing will be fine for now haha. Thanks for your comment brother hope you doing well!
You are welcome bro. Am trying to be fine
I came for a pillow fight and it's nothing remotely close to what I expected. I'm not sure how many of these punches I can take.
