Comparing the Manchester City winger, Raheem Sterling to two legendary forwards at Barcelona and Juventus, has not gone down well with him but says he remains a long way beneath their level

Raheem Sterling admits he would need to net “50 or 60 goals a year for the next 15 years” to get near Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo,

Sterling says he's not interested in being compared to two all-time greats.

The England international who is a product of Pep Guardiola has recorded 48 club goals in the last two seasons and has been placed into a talent bracket with the duo.

He says despite his achievements, he does not consider himself to be close in standard to the the two five-time Ballon d'Or winners.

Bro, if I'm scoring 50 or 60 goals a year for the next 15 years, then you can talk to me about that – right now, don't talk to me about Ronaldo or Messi!

Sterling is just 24 years of age, he has performed astoundingly and so has plenty of potential to still unlock in his game, he will get there.

Sterling has positioned himself very well for an upward career curve, that's why he is already being talked about as a potential Golden Ball winner of the future. He is working towards it as well.

There's a long process to go for that. It's a long way up. Messi and Ronaldo are two of a kind, all time greats.

Yes I agree with you, it's a long way up and plenty of hard work up.

It is hard work alright but Sterling is proving his mettle already.

Sterling undervalues himself but he's made of a tougher brand.

He knows it is sheer hard work and sheer sacrifice to get to that level and he will if he applies the same principles.

The England international is on a talent bracket towards the very top of the top players. This is because of his brilliant performances after starring for his club and his country in recent years.
