Sodiq Umar, a Nigerian striker, is the next target for Chelsea in the January transfer window.

Frank Lampard is currently in search of a new and young player who would provide competition for Tammy Abraham, who is the leading attack for the team.

Frank Lampard would likely release French striker Oliver Giroud in January. He would be left with Tammy Abraham and Batsuayi, who has not been impressive since he joined the Chelsea side from Marsile for a fee of 30 million Euros.

Lampard is not happy with the lack of proven goalscorers in his team and has made it clear to players that they must improve if they want to achieve their aim this season.

The Blues is also said to be in talks with Jason Sancho and Wilfred Zaha, but it is unlikely that they will resume in January.

Sodiq Umar has scored 16 goals in all competitions for Partizan Belgrade. The striker is currently the highest scoring Nigerian in Europe, and his club AS Roma is reluctant to release him.
