CAF SHORTLISTS TEN PLAYERS FOR THE 2019 AFRICAN PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The Confederation of African Football has released the list of ten nominees for the 2019 African Player of the Year Award. Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Osimhen, who were initially on the 30 man list released initially, did not make it to the top ten.

Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane also made the list of top ten nominees for the award.
Algeria has three players on the list. They are Riyad Mahrez of Manchester City, Ismail Bennacer of AC Milan, and another AC Milan player Youcef Belali.

Pierre-Emerick Aumbameyang, the Gabon striker that won this award in 2015, also made it to the top ten. Andre Onana and Hakim Ziyech of Ajax football club also made the list.

Nigeria,s Odion Ighalo, and Senegal's Koulibaly Kalidou are also in the race to clinch the trophy.
