Skiing Day Trip -- Actifit Report Card: February 17 + 18, 2025

What a difference a day makes. Monday, I slept over at my dad's apartment so we could get on the road at 7am for a quick 2.5-hour ride to Windham Ski Club for a day trip skiing. It was unusually windy, and the conditions were a little icy, but it is always a blessing to be able to spend the day skiing with my dad -- just the two of us.

Only the main mountain face was open due to the high winds, but there was enough variety to keep us busy for the day. Fwiw, Wolverine was the best run on the mountain, and when the wind died down, they started blowing snow in the afternoon, which made for some artificially powdery conditions to end the day.

We made it back to Manhattan by 7pm, I locked my equipment back in his basement, and took the subway back to Brooklyn. It was nice to break 13K steps while on school vacation. And the mosaic tile artwork in my dad's local subway stop is worth stopping for.

Tuesday was a complete washout. I rolled around in bed, taking care of my honey-do list in the morning. Then in the afternoon I enjoyed some Champions League football. I had plenty of time to jam #splinterlands battles, too.

What I didn't do was put any effort into getting my steps in. Granted, I forgot my fitbit was charging most of the morning. But truth be told, I didn't even bother to leave my apartment on Tuesday, so the step count is pretty accurate. There's always tomorrow. Until next time...

Thank you. I like taking the time to capture the beauty of our New York City subways. Often, people are in too big of a rush to stop and admire the artistry or they focus on its filthiness. But there is a lot to be grateful for, including the convenience and the artistry all around us. I appreciate you noticing!
