75 Hard Begins -- Actifit Report Card: January 6, 2025

Turns out I didn't have any fresh photos for Monday, so instead, check out this sweet Picasso-style chica eating a taco. I rarely get to see this garage door down at this popular taco spot and tortilleria, so this was the first chance I had to snap this pic. Well, anyways, on to the fitness...

I was up early at 6am to get going with my 75 Hard challenge and started with 16oz of water and a 45-minute walk. I used the time on the treadmill to write yesterday's actifit report and reply to comments. But since my hands were mostly steady out in front of me and I wasn't changing location, my FitBit didn't pick up any steps. Oh well, maybe I'll figure something out for Tuesday.

Thankfully, our school scholars don't arrive until Tuesday, so Monday was a day for some professional development and to get ready for the kids. We also got a hot catered breakfast, but I had to be careful to stay within my macros. I kept it simple with scrambled eggs and bacon, no sausage or biscuits for me.

After some lesson prep and tidying up in the classroom, I crushed another plate of eggs and bacon before heading home around 5pm. I cleaned up a bit around the apartment and then got into my afternoon workout along with my partner. We did 15 minutes of calisthenics and then a 30-minute yoga session.

For dinner, I crushed a plate of steak and broccoli, then finished with a Perfect Bar. I got my calories almost spot on at 1700 and my protein at 150 grams, but my carbs were too low, and my fat was too high.

I have to admit that it was kind of fun tracking my calories and macros again. I had done it for a few months during a brief 6-month foray with CrossFit in 2018. It was also the last time I saw my 6-pack so nicely defined, so I'm looking to repeat those results with this new workout discipline.

These numbers are OK, but they would have looked a whole lot better with my 45-minute walk figured in. Sadly, I didn't break through 10K (or consume a gallon of water), but I'll try again tomorrow. Until next time...

Nice work on this shutter... Almost 10000, I'm far from it some days with WFH.
    Have a great day

I would be a mess doing work from home too. I did some of that during the pandemic, I worked as a contract tracer for the state of New York making phone calls all day. One thing I did was make all my calls standing up at my computer instead of being seated. It definitely helped with my mobility (better than sitting most of the day) and I always felt more freely conversational when I was standing. Now that I teach, I rarely get a break to sit down!
