DuceCrypto's Actifit Report Card: August 18, 2024

Finally, after what seemed like an off-season that would not end (Euros + Olympics), my beloved Chelsea FC was back in action in its season opener against non other than the 4-time defending champions, Manchester City.

It was never a doubt where I'd be for the match, at The Football Factory with the famous New York Blues of course! I turned up nearly an hour early and we already had dozens of supporters in the house! By the time kickoff came around, the standing room was packed in pretty tight. Proper crowd for the first game of the season!

Chelsea played a solid game, but it still wasn't good enough to beat a City side that was mostly uninspired and looking a bit listless themselves. At least it was a great afternoon to get out of the house and mix it up with friends I hadn't seen in months. I was wishing everyone happy new year for the start of the season and got a good chuckle from most.

Despite taking an L, we learned a bunch about the squad, and I'm encouraged by the performance. Should be a good sign of better days to come soon! On my way back home from the game, I stopped by our local bakery for their signature Olive Loaf, which they only bake on the weekends. Luckily, they were not sold out, and I got to bring one of those marvelous loaves home.

The rest of the day was spent cleaning up the apartment and watching Game of Thrones back from the first season again. Not really my choice, but it is fine background sound while getting the cleaning done. I thought I was a bit fortunate to crack the 10K mark again, but I'll take it. Keeping up with that consistency is nice as I start the school year actively! Until next time...
