I think I would have let him do it, but he never did the same thing in the mud, usually it's either in the snow in the winter or he does the same thing on grass.

So, if Max were a cat, my first thought would be that someone sprinkled catnip there. Since he's not a cat, then would beg the question, do they make 'dognip'? If they do, then someone sprinkled it there in the dirt, lol!

The dirt could have come off easily, but just 5 minutes prior Max was belly deep in the water, so imagine the combo, wet Max + dirt = guaranteed shower needed. :))
