It's warm & Actifit December 20 2023
"Little Egg" lost its snow, not all of it but most of it. During the day, it feels like springtime around here. It got warm, and the sun can be seen and felt throughout the entire day. The fields are wet and almost green in many places (giving fuel for fire to global warming advocates :)).

Yes it is, there are 4 official areas specially made for skiing, but on this mountain peak most people do it on their own, you can have a skip-trough quick look how this guys did it last year:

My son was ski patrol for several years, I taught both boys to ski in Colorado!🤗
I don't think they do, not many avalanches happen around here.
Here in the northwest, and also in Colorado avalanches are common!
They actually have a retired Sherman tank that shoots live rounds at the hillside to trigger an avalanche before it can grow to a dangerous size ! 😳

Our son when he was ski patrol was in charge of setting off the explosives.
Occasionally they would have a “dud”
In the summer they would come back and cautiously pick these up and dispose of them!😳🙄
It looks lovely there! I am sure more snow will come your way soon. Weather is definitely different, but I also know there will be places this winter that will have extreme cold that they normally don't have.
We are expecting a mild winter because of El Nino (I think that's it) which brings tropical warm winds up our way via the ocean. However, mother nature has tricked us before!
