Nicolae Gricorescu was one of the founders of modern Romanian painting, he lived from 1838 until 1907. Many paintings done by him represent the harsh realities of country life, peasant, soldiers, and real people.

You can see above just a couple of paintings of a Romanian peasant woman but if interested you can see more of his work following this Wikipedia link

Now comes the interesting fun part of this post. Just by comparing those two above with this 3rd painting, does this painting look like something painted by him?

I would say that's pretty close, except that this image is generated by AI from a text command. I told Midjourney AI to generate an image in Nicolae Gricorescu's style that represents Romanian Peasants, and this is the amazing result that it came up with.
My only complaint would be that maybe the peasants are dressed in too many clothes that are not suited for working the fields in the summer heat.

I wonder what else they could come up with when they get tired of paintings and are artists and graphic designers in danger of being replaced by AI?
