Great article, we saw a number of players drop out of the England squad for the recent Nations Cup games and they all managed to be fit for their club games, as you saw the players are already managing their workloads. I do think that clubs flying all over the world playing friendlies between matches is ridiculous though.

Certainly pre-season has become less about preparation for a new campaign than it is commercial gain but then again, the bottom line is key. Football is all about money. Anyone who watches football knows that and anyone involved in the game is very aware!
